6 PARKS & RECREATION WINTER CAMP FEES: $10 mandatory annual registration fee, this cannot be waived (only applied if you have not already paid this fee in 16). *Fees below reflect the four day week schedule. City residents $48 per week, 1st child camp fee, second / additional siblings $42 per week. Non City Resident $56 per week session. DISCOUNT ON CAMP FEES Available discounts and fee reductions are only applicable to City of Miami Residents. If a parent qualifies for a fee reduction then all children from that parent s household are enrolled under that reduced rate. TO APPLY FOR A FEE REDUCTION For those who feel that they cannot afford the winter camp fees, you may apply for our Fee Reduction Program. Reduction in fees will be based on need and will be for 75%, 50%, 25% or full scholarship of the camp fee. Only City of Miami residents can apply for a reduced rate. HIP-HOP / JAZZ FUNK / MODERN The City of Miami Parks and Recreation Department has partnered with Arts for Learning to offer a FREE dance program in your area. Youth years old can register now. The league will start April 17, 17 and league expenses are covered for all. Age groups consist of Tee-Ball 7 & under, Coach-Pitch 10 & under, Kid Pitch 12 & under, and Girls Softball 12 & under. Candidates must attend all classes to obtain certification. Call the listed facilities for information. PREREQUISITE TEST: Swim 300 yards continuously using the following strokes: 100 yard front crawl stroke using rhythmic breathing with propellant kick; 100 yard breaststroke; 100 yard of participants choice between the two, no time requirement for this skill. Swim yards using the front crawl or breaststroke; surface dive to minimum depth of 7 feet and retrieve a 10 pound object, and then return with it to the surface and swim yards, on back, to the start point. When returning to the starting point, the candidate must hold the 10 pound object with both hands and keep his or her face above water while swimming on their back. Time requirement of 2 minutes. ***Minimum age of 16. Participants seeking employment with the City of Miami must have /40 uncorrected vision in each eye. Hearing must be within normal range to be able to hear adults and children in life and/or health and safety endangering situations.
