3 Winsted Park System 201 1st St. N. PO Box 126 Winsted, MN (320) fax (320) McLeod County Two of the parks are regional facilities which allow overnight camping. The other four parks are day parks. The six county parks officially open May 1 and close October 1 with hours being 7:00 a.m. to Sunset. The two regional parks are: Lake Marion Park, which is located six miles south of Hutchinson on Highway 15 Piepenburg Park, which is located seven miles northwest of Hutchinson on Belle Lake Road These parks all offer open space activities, trails, picnic shelters, fishing piers, boat access and a beach The four day parks are: Stahl's Lake Park, located five miles northwest of Hutchinson on 230th Street Swan Lake Park, located three miles northwest of Silver Lake on Swan Lake Road Wm. May Park, located two miles southeast of Winsted on Zion Avenue Buffalo Creek Park, located three miles east of Glencoe on County Road These parks all offer open space activities, trails and a picnic shelter. Oscar Olson Park has one open-air shelter and one enclosed shelter available for rent. 5 Ball Fields Plato One ball field is located along County Rod 9 around the block area. There is also the Blue Jay Stadium and two additional fields located on 2nd Street Nw. Plato City Park Located near the Community and Fire Halls. This park has a shelter, basketball courts, and a playground area Skate Park and Ice Skating Rink This is located on 2nd Street NE at the 300 block Silver Lake Cornerstone Park Park benches overlooking Silver Lake Legion Park on Main Street Band Shelter, Playground, picnic shelter with BBQ grill and picnic tables Silver Lake Recreation Facility Aquatic Center with a zero entry shallow area and water slide, softball fields, volleyball courts, horseshoe courts, basketball court and playgrounds Luce Line Access Point and Parking Railroad Street and Park Ave North of Hwy 7; Molly s Café and Silver Lake Motel on Hwy 7 there is also bike rental for tail users at this site. Glencoe General Information & City Park Shelter Rental Oak Leaf Park 200 Desoto Avenue South Sports Oak Leaf Park is ideal for the sports enthusiast! Surrounded by mature trees and rolling green space, the park features a 9-hole disc golf course, softball and baseball fields, sand volleyball, basketball court, soccer field and walking trails. Aquatic Center Open June through August, the Glencoe Aquatic Center features a 150 foot flume slide, drop slides, children s frog slide, diving board, zero entrance pool, umbrella fountains, shaded observation areas and a concession area. Located in Glencoe s flagship park, Oak Leaf Park, this state of the art facility is one of the region s top outdoor aquatic parks Hours and Fees as follows: Sunday-Saturday: 12:30 p.m.-9 p.m. (Closing at 8 p.m. in August) Daily Rates: ages 0-4 $2.00; all other $6.00 Individual Season Pass: resident $60.00 (+ tax of $4.13); non-resident $80.00 (+tax of $5.50) Family Season Pass: resident $ (+ tax of $8.09); non-resident $ (+ tax of $10.31) Fishing Pond The park fishing pond includes a dock donated by Gaylord/Green Isle Conservation Partners, and fish stocked by the DNR each spring. Over 1,500 sunfish and crappies were stocked in preparation for the 2009 fishing season. Catch and release is encouraged until the fish are large enough to eat. License requirements apply to fishing at the Oak Leaf Park pond. Wildlife Sanctuary The wildlife sanctuary is a thirty-two acre refuge, home to elk, deer, llamas, waterfowl, turtles and various other animals. It is not uncommon for the elk and deer to visit you at the fence. Achieve a full view of the grounds by following the walking trail that circles the sanctuary. Picnics With the scenic setting and many available activities, Oak Leaf Park is a great location for picnics. Numerous grill areas, shelters, restrooms and picnic tables are located at Oak Leaf Park. Seasonally, concessions are available at the Aquatic Center nearby. Whatever your interest, Oak Leaf Park is an ideal destination for your family outing!
6 Hutchinson Hutchinson has the second oldest park system in the nation, second only to Central Park in New York City! With 30+ parks in the Hutchinson area, there is always something to do for the whole family. Linden Park - Softball fields, adjacent to public pool, Recreation Center, Civic Arena, paved walking path. Lion s Park - Playground equipment, picnic tables. Maplewood Park - Picnic tables. Lester Prairie Lester Prairie City Park Located on the south side of Second Avenue South near Pine Street Features a heated outdoor pool staffed by certified lifeguards. The pool complex also includes two slides, a diving board and other equipment, Playground Grills two tennis courts horseshoe pits a basketball court sand volleyball court one baseball field and one lighted softball/football field two little league fields and T-ball field A batting tunnel is also available. restroom facilities. two shelters in the park can be reserved through the city offices Prairie Ridge Park Located in the Prairie Ridge development on the east side of the city playground equipment Sunrise Nature Park 50-acre park on the city s east side and is open to the public, but no motorized vehicles are allowed in the park. There is a bridge and boardwalks to provide easy access to the park on the north side of East Park Estates. The park includes both woods and grassland and has been designated an official wildlife habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. Among the plants in the park are goldenrod, prairie coreopsis, coneflowers, iris, sunflowers, prairie rose, butterfly weed, black and brown-eyed susans. The park also includes a variety of prairie grass, such as Indian grass, switch grass, bluestem, Canada wild rye and wheatgrass. The park is home to a variety of wildlife such as deer and wild turkey in the park. The long-range plan for the park includes the development of additional features, including a butterfly habitat, bird habitat, walking paths, observation areas, a shelter, and picnic areas. Additional park benches and trash receptacles will be added throughout the park and at trail entrances, and a picnic area will be created on Prairie Hill, near the center of the park.

It will eventually feature a party room. Neubarth said corporate outings, birthday parties and graduation parties are welcome. The cost per round is $8 for adults and $6 for children 10 or younger. Group discounts are available. Summer hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more information, call (320) Hutchinson Library events: Hutchinson Stories In The Park The library is sponsoring Stories in the Park once again this year. The program will be held Thursday mornings at 10:00 am from June 10-August 19. Pre-school and early elementary age children and parents will enjoy books and other activities together. So come bring a blanket to the park in front of the library and join our guest readers. Burich Area Hutchinson East & West Rinks 950 Harrington St SW This summer the Burich Arena will again be offering summer ice skating. Hockey and figure skating camps will be offered as well as public skating sessions. For additional information contact the Burich Arena at Puppet Show For the sixth year in a row, the Friends of the Library have again invited the Schiffelly Puppets to the library for an outside show in the park on Thursday, August 26 at 10:00am. (Rain location is Maplewood Academy.)

A current Open Gym schedule is posted on the bulletin board near the PRCE office, 900 Harrington Street SW. Office hours are 9:00 am-4:00 pm, Monday-Friday. Activity Fee Family Open Gym $2/person or $3/family Private Gym Rental $35/hour Walking & Jogging FREE Schedule is subject to change without notice. Two giant slides made of plastic are rolled down Rocket Hill and with a little help from the Hutch Fire Dept., we have an instant water slide. We offer separate times for day care operations so that lines will be shorter for everyone. Bring your towel, swimsuit, and $1 for a great time! Check Gameline ( ) if weather is questionable. No advance registration required. Frisbee Disc Golf Course South Park in Hutchinson has a 9-hole course, and is one of 100+ courses in Minnesota. TRAILS AND BIKE ROUTES Hutchinson promotes walking and biking around the city by offering a variety of public trails and bike paths. The state s Luce Line Trail extending from the City of Cosmos to the City of Plymouth has a paved section that runs right through the heart of Hutchinson. This offers the opportunity to walk, run, rollerblade and bike in a safe and scenic space along the Crow River. Complimenting the state trail is our growing list of city trails. Many of which can be accessed from the Luce Line. Within the park system we also have many trail loops. For those who are conscience of how far they have exercised we have provided a list of loops and their distances below.
