While you are here, we have a few tips to make your stay more enjoyable. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Drinking plenty of water will help your body adjust to the altitude and dry environment. Wear Sunscreen The sun is very intense at this altitude and sunscreen is recommended even on cloudy or snowy days. Snow reflects sun so be sure to cover your chin and neck, too. Preventing Child Sexual Abuse Free Online Training The YMCA of the Rockies has a vision of a world free of child sexual abuse. A world in which all children are loved, protected, nurtured and able to grow up healthy. To educate adults in the community about how to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse, the YMCA of the Rockies has joined forces with Darkness to Light, a nationally recognized nonprofit organization and creators of the awardwinning Stewards of Children child sexual abuse prevention curriculum. 3 Ice Skating Rink and Tubing Hill Located at the Legett Youth and Family Pavilion YMCA of the Rockies members and overnight guests are provided with complimentary admission and skate and tube rentals. All other participants must purchase a Day Pass. Snow Mountain Ranch s Nordic Center has more than 100 kilometers of trails accommodating everyone from the first-time cross country skier or snowshoe to the elite racer. Beginners can ski on short loops around the Nordic Center while experienced skiers can explore longer trails with steeper climbs. Lesson are available as well. Call for more details. Single-Day Cross-Country Skiing Trail Pass or Snowshoe Trail Pass is complimentary to YMCA of the Rockies members and overnight guests. Other participants must purchase a Day Pass. 5 BECOME A MEMBER We hope you enjoy your stay at Snow Mountain Ranch! Membership is not required to stay at either Estes Park Center or Snow Mountain Ranch. However, there are many benefits to a YMCA of the Rockies membership. Benefits include: The ability to make your cabin reservations before the general public $15 per night lodging discount at Estes Park Center and Snow Mountain Ranch 10% discount at both general stores and discounts on family weekend packages at both locations Access to all recreational and program facilities at both locations, including the pools $20 discount for your child or teen to attend Camp Chief Ouray Season pass on Nordic ski and snowshoe trails at Snow Mountain Ranch Free tubing and ice skating at the Winter Fun Park at Snow Mountain Ranch YMCA of the Rockies membership is $250 for one year or $600 for three years and covers a family & dependent children who live in the same household. Children under 8 years of age need to be accompanied by an adult. Children wearing life jackets need to be within arms length of an adult at all times. No video recorders, cameras, cell phones, or any other visual recording devices are allowed within the pool area without permission from the Aquatics Director. No inflatable devices are allowed in pool. During open swims there will be a ten minute rest period every hour as needed. Pool schedule may change without notice. Pool may be temporarily closed during lightening. Towels are provided at the pool (one per swimmer). We hold to a 20 swimmer to 1 lifeguard ratio, with a maximum of 100 PLAN A FAMILY REUNION! Our retreat cabins can sleep up to forty guests, and our reunion packages are perfect for families staying in our hotel-style lodges who want to let us do the work, while you have the fun. Learn about our fun group activity packages, dining packages and reserve your space up to two years in advance. 6

9 Dog Sledding Call the Program Office at ext and reserve your dog sledding spot for the winter! Long and short rides available as well as group reservations. Rides start December 25 and run as long as weather allows. Don t want to go on a ride but want to learn more about dog sledding? Come to the pre-ride dog sledding presentation at the Library at 8:30am on Thursday, December 25. SUNDAY WORSHIP Join us for worship at Whispering Pines Chapel which is connected to the Administration Building. 10:15am Refreshments following in the Buckboard Grill. Christmas Eve Candlelight Services Wednesday, December 24 6:30pm & 10pm Whispering Pines Chapel All guests, staff, & community members are welcome to attend. Please join us for Christmas worship, communion, a special message, & candle lighting. 9

10 Downhill Ski and Snowboard Rentals at Snow Mountain Ranch Why pay more and wait in line? Pay only for the gear you use. Children rent free with renting parent. Boots up to size 18 are available with 1,000 of sets of equipment. Clothing rental as well as gloves, goggles and accessories available. We provide repair and a wealth of information.
