2 Invitation The Korean Society on Water Environment Membrane Separation Specialist Group is very delighted to host the 4 th MBR Workshop for the Next Generation and Waste-to-Energy Conversion on February, 2014, in Gunsan, Korea. We would like to invite water professionals and engineers to this workshop and thus to present and share recent advances, knowledge, and experiences in MBR technology. The MBR technology has become one of the key elements in wastewater reclamation and reuse processes while replacing conventional activated sludge processes. However, there are still some huddles to overcome to be more competitive in water technology markets, such as fouling control and energy saving. Therefore, this workshop aims to provide some solutions for such important issues. The workshop will cover the following topics: new membranes and MBR processes, fouling control, energy production, industrial case studies, and commercialized MBR plant operation experiences. Gunsan is a high-tech industrial city and an international seaport located in the mid-west coast of the Korean peninsula, which is also surrounded by Geum and Mangyung rivers in harmony with beautiful mountains. In addition, Saemangeum, an estuarine tidal flat on the coast of the Yellow Sea, is nearby. We look forward to seeing you in Gunsan. K.Y. 5 Transportation Guide for International Visitors I. Incheon Airport Gunsan Intercity Bus Station Airline passengers can get information about Limousines, Premium Buses, and ticketing at the following ticket booths: Exit 4 and 9 (indoors) & Exit 4, 6, 7, 8, 11, 13, and 9C (outdoors). 1) Route 1 (Arrival on Feb. 11 th 2014) For international guests who are arriving Incheon airport on Feb. 11 th 2014, one night accommodation at Hoam Faculty House inside Seoul National University will be available (95,000 Won for one night). Information on Airport limousine (No.6017) from Incheon to Hoam Faculty House (Terminal!) can be found in the diagram Route 1. A charter bus leaving for Gunsan Best Western Hotel from Hoam Faculty House will be provided

6 at 8:30 AM in the following morning (Feb. 12 th 2014). Alternatively, for travelers who wish to stay at Gunsan Best Western Hotel on Feb. 11 th 2014, the hotel will offer a special price (Regular: 92,000 Won, Student: 5,2000 Won for one night with breakfast). For airport limousine to Gunsan, please refer to Route 2. 2) Route 2 (Arrival on Feb. 12 th 2014) For international guests who are arriving Incheon airport in the very early morning of Feb. 12 th 2014, Gunsan Intercity Bus Station can be reached via two bus types: 1) Cross-country (direct) and 2) Limousine. Information on bus station number at Incheon Airport and schedule is included in the following diagram. Once arrived at Gunsan Intercity Bus Station, a city taxi can be taken to Gunsan Best Western Hotel (estimated fee: 15,000 Won & travel time: 30 min). Please don t forget the conference start at 1:30 PM on Feb. 12 th.

Gunsan Best Western Hotel Incheon 1) Departure on Feb. 14 th 2014 For international guests who are departing on Feb. 14 th 2014, a charter bus will bring you to the Hoam Faculty House inside SNU after the sightseeing (around 17:00) on Feb. 14 th. Travelers can take airport limousine from Hoam Faculty House to Incheon International Airport. Please refer to diagram Route 1 for bus schedule (last bus from Hoam Faculty House to airport is at 20:40). 2) Departure on Feb. 15 th 2014 For international guests who are leaving directly for Incheon airport on Feb. 15 th 2014, Gunsan Best Western Hotel will provide special price (Regular: 92,000 won, Student: 5,2000 won) for extra night (Feb. 14 th ) including breakfast. Travelers should take taxi (estimated fee: 15,000 won & travel time: 30 min) to Gunsan Intercity Bus Station in which an airport limousine can be taken to reach Incheon International Airport. Refer to below for bus fare and schedule departing for the airport*. * Time line of departing buses from Gunsan Intercity Bus Station to Incheon International Airport are: 03:00, 04:10(direct), 05:10(direct), 06:10, 07:10(direct), 08:10, 09:10(direct), 10:10, 12:10(direct), 13:30, 14:30(direct), and 15:30 with fare of 23,700 won.
