3 THE PRACTICE CRHI is a well established independent practice of International Construction and Engineering Consultants founded in the UK in 1960, providing consultancy services in Project and Construction Management, Architecture and Engineering, Transport and Infrastructure, as well as Environmental and Sustainability planning with over 220 professionals, ranging from Qualified Project Managers to Chartered Engineers and Scientists. We operate from offices in London, Surrey, Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol, covering the UK and Europe, and from Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Beirut covering the U.A.E. and the Middle East Region. 4 Hotel & Beach Resort, Muscat, Oman Client: Nujum Al Bawadi CRHI were appointed to undertake the design and construction management of the luxurious five star hotel and beach resort located in the Al Qurum area of Muscat in proximity to Muscat International Airport, major businesses and close vicinity to the new Opera House. The development consists of a luxury five star hotel with 360 key with deluxe rooms and suites as well as chalets. The total built up area is over 53,000 m 2 over 8 levels. All rooms enjoy the Indian Ocean views and recreational facilities such as a gymnasium, swimming pools and other ancillary facilities. The hotel is set to host conference events and exhibitions in its 1,700 m 2 ball room. Recent years had witnessed development on either side of Sultan Khaboos Street and huge growth in traffic volumes along the main corridor which takes to the Airport and this in turn brought with it traffic problems at locations which were once quiet and low-dense. CRHI prepared the Traffic Impact and Parking Study for the hotel and investigated future impacts of such a facility from traffic perspective and also suggests any improvement measures needed at access locations and ascertain on-site circulation patterns. After the impact of cyclone Guno which hit the area the scope of work was extended to investigate the flud risk generated by the adjacent wadi opening to the Gulf of Oman.

5 Courtyard Marriott, Green Community Village, Dubai CRHI has been appointed as Structural Engineer in a multi-disciplinary team lead by SDJV architects to design and supervise the construction of the First Phase of the Green Community Village, part of a major development by Dubai Investment Park in an area close to Jebel Ali Zone. The Marriott Hotel serves the Green Community area which is a mixed use near Jebel Ali. The project includes industrial, commercial and residential areas with the provision of all infrastructure provision including lakes and landscaping. The Green Community Village consists of approximately 900,000 sq ft of development to be built around a manmade lake in a Venetian style of architecture with a hotel and floating restaurant, terraced apartments, five office blocks, a four storey residential block and childcare facilities. Whitbread Marriott, Heathrow The Whitbread Marriott is one of the largest and most luxurious hotels available to the millions of passengers who regularly use Heathrow, Europe s busiest airport. Located just half a mile from Heathrow airport, this 400 bedroom hotel represents the largest collaboration between Marriott Hotels from the USA and Britain s largest leisure operator, Whitbread. The hotel features extensive conference facilities, heated indoor swimming pool, spa and fitness suite. It was designed to the highest construction standards to ensure that the hotel was successfully built as well as operated and maintained economically. Providing structural, civil and geotechnical engineering design services to Whitbread, developed a tunnel form method of construction enabling 5 rooms a day to be constructed. Off form concrete required no wet trades. Substantial open atria were provided at the front of the building with steel trusses supporting overhead plant rooms. Fast track methods were utilised throughout the project from the first stages of design through to installation of the pods, cladding, finishes and catering facilities. Project benchmarked by Whitbread. Marriott, Leicester The new Leicester Marriott Hotel is located in a prime position with only a short drive to Leicester s city centre. It is designed as a landmark building on a well landscaped site in the Grove Park Commercial Centre. The six-storey building has its focal space a full height entrance atrium. The project contains 225 bedrooms as well as public facilities including a function/conference centre, meeting rooms, health club, coffee lounge, restaurant and bar. provided multidisciplinary services including Civil, Structural, Geo-Environmental and Traffic Engineering Services for client Whitbread Hotel Company.

6 Ciragan Palace Hotel, Istanbul Ciragan Palace, a historic monument was inhabited by the last Ottoman Sultan, Sultan Abdulmejit until 1910 when he was placed under house arrest. Later on that year a mysterious fire broke out and gutted the Palace beyond recognition. Through the decades a series of proposals were made to restore the Palace but no action was taken until October 1986 when the actual work started on site. CRHI Joint Venture partner The SAMER Group Abu Dhabi Inc. was appointed by SDC (Sanbar Development Corporation) of the UK, to set up the design team and monitor the design and construction process. The tasks involved managing an onsite multi disciplinary team of consultants for a design and build project where the main contractor was Kumagai Gumi of Japan who was leading the site construction. The site is situated along the Bosphorus shore line on the European side of Istanbul. The Palace is built over three floors with a total construction area of 25,500m² and includes a casino and gaming area, 23 shopping units, restaurants, a ball room, exhibition halls, meeting and conference centres, five super-deluxe suites in addition to the Sultan suite (450 m²), and a historic Hammam (Turkish Bath). The Hotel a new structure, homogenizes with the Palace historic look, comprises of 312 deluxe rooms, 12 suites, restaurants, coffee shops, 8 shopping units, and all the amenities of a five star hotel with a construction area of 26,000 m². The total construction area of the whole projects exceeds 52,000m² with landscaped grounds and underground car park. Al Ghaith Tower, Abu Dhabi CRHI were appointed to project manage the construction of this prestigious furnished apartment tower located in the Tourist Club area of the Capital Abu Dhabi, overlooking the new development of Al Reem Island. CRHI had the task to turn around a slow moving project and revamp the design increasing the accommodation area by more than 10% while keeping the same budget and a tight construction schedule, which was successfully achieved. The project consists of 21 levels including a basement and roof top recreation area covering a built up area of over 12,000m². Hotel Apartment Buildings, Dubai CRHI were commissioned by H.E. Saeed Khalfan Al Ghaith to project manage this prestigious beach front Hotel Apartment building at Madinat Al Arab Dubai Water Front in Palm Jebel Ali. The project development has a total built up area of 28,000m².

The tasks involved conducting on site surveys, collecting geographical and economic data. The Hotel a new structure, homogenizes with its surrounding environment comprises of 320 deluxe rooms, 8 suites, restaurants, coffee shops, and all the amenities of a five star hotel with a construction area of 17,000 m². The total construction area of the whole projects exceeds 38,000m² with landscaping and landscaped surface car parking. 5 Star Hotel Damascus, Syria Design for a luxury five star hotel with all related amenities. The tasks involved managing the design process to tender documentation. The site is situated in a prestigious area in Damascus. The Hotel, a new structure, homogenizes with its surrounding environment and comprises of 270 deluxe rooms, 10 suites, restaurants, coffee shops, 8 shopping units, and all the amenities of a five star hotel with a construction area of 15,000 m². The total construction area of the whole projects exceeds 28,000m² with landscaping and underground car park.
