1 Decorating You re goal with decorating is to make your guests feel like they are at home while they are on vacation. Think of your three favorite homes to visit, or even resorts. Pull out the magazines, go online, or head to your local bookstore or library. Browse through the pictures, including the ads, to find inspiration. How did you feel when you were there? Stimulated? Relaxed? Pampered? What contributed to that feeling? Colors? Textures? Fabrics? Quality? Art? How can you emulate that in your home? List five specific things:

Use the check list below to create an inventory of things to have on-hand. This list is geared towards VR s in first world countries. Not every vacation rental will need all of these items, use judgment. Compare yourself with other VR s in the area, then try to go a step above. While a flat panel TV with 100 channels and high speed WiFi might be standard in the US, if you don t offer that, just be clear.
