3 Directors Report Hi all Hope everyone had a Great Xmas and an excellent New Years, while enjoying some of the great weather we have had to enjoy getting out on the road and putting some Km s on those bikes. We had a busy month in December with the club photo, mock toy run and then the actual Toy Run, which turned out to be a fantastic day, with the committee members and volunteers coming together to help a fantastic cause as we do every Year. Everyone did a great job and we had some positive feedback which we will need to bring on board to make this year s event bigger and better for the 25 th event of the Toy Run. Speaking of the Toy Run, I would especially like to thank Blow Performance Exhausts for their donation of the Exhaust pipes, which we raffled off Fantastic effort. We also had a donation from an anonymous person for $10,000 worth of toys which was an enormous amount. I would also thank those that sorted and distributed the toys over the days before xmas so the charities we donate to could make sure they had toys to hand out. January also included a couple of rides one organized by our Road Captain Wes (Pounder) to Darlington Pub which had a good turnout and was a good day for it, and also, we had our first LOH ride this year organized by Ann-Marie led by our Road Captain Paula another great turnout to the Chocolate factory on the Great Ocean Road. I like to thank all those that helped on those rides, tail end Charlie and corner helpers; we can t do these rides without your help. We have a busy schedule of Rallies booked for the year all over Australia, so those that can make it I m sure will have a Great time which ever Rally you can get too. I would like to thank Belly and Mel for their efforts in organizing the Xmas party I know it was a great night and a big turnout and look forward to this years. Looking forward to our rides this year and I m sure there will be plenty of good days still left this summer so enjoy and stay safe out there. Cheers Gatz 3

4 From the Editor Wow , didn't that come around quick...l am not sure if time flys when you get older, or you just forget half the year because we are older Anyway. With the warmer Ok, bloody hot months, just a bout over, I hope everyone had a chance to get out and enjoy a ride with friends, family or just enjoyed one by yourself. Gladly the sun will be starting to turn this heat down and makes life a bit more comfortable to clad ourselves with layers of kevlier and leather and happy to put a red hot V-twin between our legs and get out and ride a bit more. Don t forget if you want something added to get this to me by 4 pm the Friday before the meeting...even better if you can get it in earlier. 5 Geelong HOG - Dates Club Rides February 12th - Rockin Rod March 19th - Bodge April 9th - TBA Social Events Hi Hoggers, next social function is Saturday 25th February 6.30pm at Cucina One restaurant High St. Belmont. Cost is $30 for 3 course meal or $25 for 2. Drinks at bar prices. 10 seats already booked, 20 seats left. Contact Belly on to book your seat. Xmas party 2017 is on Saturday 16 th December. Again will be at the Novotel Geelong. Planning to have live music this year. Overnighters Overnighter to Mulwala October the 7th & 8th. Numbers will be limited to 50, cost likely to be $100 per person which will include alcohol and this year a spit roast dinner at the holiday units...more info will be available when dates get closer - or Call Belly on Harley Days Also Harley Days is on again in Stuart Park Wollongong 27th - 29th October This information has been given out early to chapters to enable members to book accommodation before it goes out to the general public. The feedback for the 2016 Harley Days has been taken into consideration and more activities. a lot more things to do and rest assured, the THUNDER RUN WILL CERTAINLY NOT BE THE SAME form as 2016.

6 Darlington Club ride Now let me set the scene, It was a Sunday not that long ago when there were 18 odd Harley's revving to go somewhere, so 1 little Harley (pounder), hang on, well not that little said I'll huff, I'll puff and put my hand up to lead a ride to a land not that far away (well around 220kms it turned out). Anyway enough of the fairy tale, so on Sunday 8th of Jan I lead a ride, start point BP south bound on the ring road. About fellow hogs turned up to let me lead them astray. We left the BP about 9:30 and headed south towards Bellbrae, and then took the back way to Beeraguna. We then got into Colac where we stopped to stretch the legs and chat, but before the stands were down Harves took off over the road to macca's to have a snack. I got some advice off Bodge to see what I was doing right or wrong as road captain (thanks mate). Then we took off on our merry way to Stonyford were we tuned to go towards Cobden, it was good to see my fellow hogs riding behind me as I try not to lose any. So on arriving at Cobden I took then though the Main Street of Cobden past the local butter factory & tech school where I went as a young lad (a bloody long time ago) then we took a couple of back roads into Camperdown. We stopped at the BP to fuel the thirsty breasts up (the Harley's that is) and then headed to Darlington Pub. We got there around the 12:30 mark where we met up with fellow hog "Tonk" (I hope that's right) and had a couple of cold ales to help wash down lunch. At roughly 2pm we headed back to Geelong only to come across the local CFA (a bunch of blokes who do a great job) doing a road side burn which meant the traffic was stopped for about mins, and then from no where the boys in blue rocked up, most likely they knew Ray was with us. Once the road was opened up again we headed off to Lismore and stopped to allow a couple of bikes to fill up. Once that was done we headed back to Geelong where we all departed our own way. As the road captain for this trip I was very grateful for the riders who were able to join me and I hope you had fun. The End - Pounder. 6

7 LOH Christmas Party Held on the 21 st December at La Vista in Brougham St, Geelong at 6.30pm. We had 22 LOH s along for the night. A lot of laughter and chatter was held and then came the annual gift giving, stealing and exchanging. Jenny was the most wonderful in regards to receiving and giving. Jenny was looking at giving Allan a great Harley bell but others had their eyes on it and Jen lost it very quickly. That was the start of it, and although Jay strong suggested that no one take the present she had chosen Paula had other ideas. Jay lost it. True to form our wonderful Paula come off very well with receiving from Jay the bottle of Baileys Irish Cream. There were so many wonderful gifts and not too much stealing from others. Thank you for all that were so thoughtful and special. Thank you to all that came along and for those that missed out I am sorry and will make sure that notices are sent to you. 8 Ladies of Harley Ride Held on the 15 th January Our first ride for the year, riders gathered at the BP on Portarlington Rd to head off at 10.00am. Heading out along the Bellarine with first stop at Ocean Grove Dunes, with a quick 30-minute coffee break was had and then heading off to Torquay and then onto the Great Ocean Road Chocolaty. With a total of 13 Riders & Pillions with a further 15 waiting at the Great Ocean Road Chocolaty. A special thanks to the guys that brought their ladies along on their bikes and a big thank you to Alan that was our TEC. Jenny was waiting patiently for him at the end to share some delicious goodies and treats. Thanks to Paula our Road Captain for running a well-run ride with everyone staying together and being safe. 9 2016 HOGS Christmas Party With a great turn up of 101 people making there way to the Novotel Geelong to celebrate another great year in the history of our great club. It appeared a number of members decide to get into the drinks and shots early in the afternoon at Rockin Rods with a few a bit worse for wear on arrival. Do you remember the evening Trish and Linda? It was great see members dressed up in suits and frocks, it s a nice change from jeans and Harley t-shirts. Thanks to Mick Gardiner for spinning the tunes, Wilko for the photos on screen and our ever reliable director for organising the raffle prizes. It looked a bit suss when Gatz won the lucky door prize. After great food, many drinks some of us ventured to the edge for a nightcap. Thanks everyone for a great year and let s make this one even better. Belly 9

When Harves isn't looking, I am going to lick his ear. I hope he isn't going to lick my ear. 10

12 Rallies As the New Year approaches it's time to plan your riding for 2017 and what better way to do that than schedule trips to one, or all, of the fantastic H.O.G. State Rallies that are on offer in early Tasmania State H.O.G. Rally Beginning with the Apple Isle, Tasmania hosts the first State Rally of the year at Stanley from 3-5th February The Tassie rally, entitled 'Lets Go Nuts' will be another fun-filled event with awesome entertainment planned for both Friday and Saturday nights. Showcasing the magical scenery of the north-west of Tasmania this will be an unforgettable weekend with the Tassie Chapter hoggies. Victoria State H.O.G. Rally Next is the Victorian State Rally at the lovely Hepburn Springs from 10-13th March. Themed 'The Glory Days', the VIC rally is a celebration of all things '60s and '70s. Come and kick back with your H.O.G. mates and enjoy rally favourites including the show 'n' shine, gymkhana, guided rides, technical information sessions run by Harley City, plus a variety of stalls for you to wonder through. Join us as we recapture those good old glory days. Queensland State H.O.G. Rally The Gold Coast Chapter is proud to present the "Ride In Paradise" Queensland State Rally for The rally will be held on Mt Tamborine in the beautiful wine country of the Gold Coast Hinterland from the 17-19th March. Find your own piece of paradise or just relax and get lost in the serenity of the mountains. Onsite camping will be available as well as 'Glamping' tents and caravan sites. Book early, space is limited and registrations are filling fast. This is sure to be one rally you don't want to miss. Northern Territory State H.O.G. Rally The Alice Springs H.O.G. chapter is proud to present the 2017 NT State Rally, taking place on the 29th and 30th of April Long overdue, with the last rally held in 2012, you do not want to miss this opportunity to explore the wonders of central Australia. From riding on open speed limit roads, to slowly cruising out to one of the amazing waterholes for a swim, the truly spectacular scenery of central Australia is going to captivate you. 16 NSW/ACT State H.O.G. Rally 2017 September 8th 9th and 10 th MOREE, NSW READ ALL ABOUT IT!!! READ ALL ABOUT IT!!! PARTY ON THE PLAINS!!! PARTY ON THE PLAINS!!! It is with the greatest pleasure that The Big Sky H.O.G. Chapter would like to invite all H.O.G. members and their guests to the 2017 NSW/ACT State rally to be held in beautiful Moree NSW!! Where's that you ask?? Well, it's 120km's south of Goondiwindi and 100km's north of Narrabri. Check out the link The rally will be held in the grounds of the Hot Springs Motel and Caravan park (part of the Gwydir Caravan park) ( ). Camping/van sites/cabins and rooms available! Give them a call and book a room close to all the action. Mention you are a HOG member at time of booking for a great site location! Moree is right in the heart of the big sky country, and home to the hot spa pools which are featured in each of the motels in town. So come along with friends and family to experience the delights of the beautiful hot pools and clean off the road dust after a fabulous ride and relax those weary muscles with a long hot soak in one of the town s motel pools. It s 200m from the Amaroo tavern which will host the Friday night dinner and will be the dedicated watering hole throughout the rally. Saturday night entertainment and meal will be held at the Moree and districts Services club, which also hosts the Albert motel on the other side of the carpark ( ). There are plenty of other hotels and motels in town which are also close to the rally site, and a bus will do the rounds each night for your convenience. We ll send out the list soon. So get your chapter together, plan your road trip, and head on out to Moree for what will be one awesome adventure, in the heart of the Big Sky Country. IT S GOING TO BE A HEADLINER!!
