However, it had been itting for ome time, and the engine wouldn t run. A once over with the and blater howed how much more work it needed. I had to replace the firewall and windhield pot, the inide lip around the ide window and about 10 inche from the bottom of the body almot all of the way around. I welded and moothed all the vent, hood eam and door handle; removed the rain gutter; and frenched the headlight. I replaced what wa left of the rear rocker panel with a homemade roll pan with frenched LED taillight. The rear door are a mix of modified barn door with homemade hidden hinge and the top part of clam-hell door. After all thi wa done, I bolted the finihed body back onto the frame and got to work under the hood. I intalled a General Motor Performance Part 350 with an Edelbrock manifold, a Holley carburetor, Hooker header, Crane cam, a 700-R4 tranmiion and a Nova 10-bolt rearend and pring. It got 17x7 and 17x9 Cragar S/S wheel and BFGoodrich G Force tire. I intalled TPI gauge, an It A Snap wiring harne and a power window kit. I finihed it up with a tangier orange and tone white paint job, and now thi five and a half year project i complete. Now it time for the next one. Since then, the club ha aited the American Cancer Society Relay for Life and hoted an annual Holiday Cruie for the Kid and other numerou community event. Recently, Carl et up an Adopt a Soldier Unit drive, and club member have donated fund for package that are ent to troop in Afghanitan and Iraq.
