1 January 24, 2015, Warning!! This is not going to be like any President s message you have ever read before. A lot has happened since we (Jim & Betty) last wrote this column and I know it has been quite a while. Things in our home have be topsy turvy to say the least. Betty had a heart attack the Monday before Thanksgiving (after the Vagabounders November campout). It turned our lives upside down. There was no permanent damage to her heart and we know that her arteries are clean so no stents or bypasses were necessary but it was brought on by stress. That could have been physical, mental, pain, loss of a loved one (not this one thank you God!) but you all know what kind of stress she puts herself under on a daily basis what with her Vagabounder obligations (you are reading that one right now!) her Bounders United secretarial duties and the Bounder Sounder (you will be reading that one on or before the 1 st of February). She also is still working when she can and as you all are she is a spouse, a parent and a grandparent and all of those are very important to her and me. She was put on time out by her doctors and didn t do well with that as Christmas was just around the corner. To add to the stress for both of us we were in a seven-month long battle with Chase bank trying to refinance our home. In mid-january one of us (Chase or the Schneiders won). Betty stood up in the bank and with her very quiet inside voice to them to stick it where the sun don t shine. She was actually much more polite but really not quiet. She said NO MORE, I want every piece of paper in that pile on your desk that has my name, my husband s name, our Social Security numbers or account numbers on it NOW! After about 15 minutes of hemming and hawing, apologizing etc. we walked out with our papers. We then went to Coldwell Banker real estate and put our home on the market. This was Friday the 9 th. We signed the paper work on the 10 th and told Chris (RE agent) that it would be ready to show on Thursday the 15 th. Photo were taken on Thursday, the sign went up Friday, (Betty had another in the ongoing series of spinal steroid injections that day also) we took off for Colorado River Adventure Emerald Cove in the RV to meet up with the Brombachs for three weeks in the desert including Quartzsite with the Vagabounders and later with the Southern Nevada Dam Bounders and the LaBounders. On Sunday the 11 th Chris held the first of many planned Open Houses as we were gone and he had lots of time to show it. We were in Quartzsite by this time and got a phone call saying he was expecting an offer any minute. To shorten this story a bit, the offer came in $16K over our asking price which by the way was the appraisal price. We all accepted after a minor change to the offer on Wednesday. A check was needed on Friday so we planned to leave for home on Thursday, the 15 th if you are counting or even still reading. While we were packing up Betty tripped (nothing unusual here) and fell. She hit her right eye on my knee and landed on her right side. Left a 2 x1 hunk of her are on the desert floor and tried to get up. Funny thing, her left leg/foot didn t want to cooperate. Turns out after a trip to the Urgent Care in Wildomar, (following our setting up camp at Wilderness Lakes TTN, her idea because why should we go home just to pack up and come to WL later as we are now Full Timing in the RV.) she fractured her left foot in two places. (She cannot do anything easily or simply!) She spent Friday, the16th thru Thursday, the 22 nd in a splint and in the RV. On the 22 nd after the swelling had gone down and the bruising had gone thru at least half of its color changes, she was put in a denim blue knee to toe cast with orders not to walk except on crutches or to get a knee scooter or knee walker. She is confined to the RV, nice tight quarters that do not allow much walking with or without crutches. She managed to get the Bounder Sounder to the printer on time, and as you can tell is now finally working on the Roos News again. BTW it was almost ready to send out in late December but something else happened along the way but we can t remember what it was. Obviously it wasn t important as nothing ever really happens to the boring Schneiders.. Jim Jim Schneider, President - 1 -

2 will be in the Jan/Feb Bounder Sounder and also available on-line if you wish to pay via credit card and Vagabounders Minutes PayPal is offering six months to pay it off, interest free. This is very good for those of us that are living Minutes of November 15, 2014 on a budget. The meeting was called to order by President Jim Schneider. Present were Jim & Betty Schneider, Pat & Becky Brombach, Frank Orr & Jane Klomp and Ray & Edna Derringer Minutes as printed in the last Roos News were approved by all. Membership Report: We are still looking for new members and Betty is sending out BU and Vagabounder membership information to the appropriate names on the monthly New Bounder Owners report that is received from Fleetwood via Bob Scharmann and the BU Secretary (herself). Treasurer Report: Treasurers report was approved as presented by Becky. Trail Boss Report: See campout schedule. September National Rally Pahrump October Mike & Jill Carle November Jim & Betty Schneider December Pat & Becky Brombach January Don & Roberta Thomas February Don & Georgya Crane Mike & Clydia Beaudet March Jim & Betty Schneider April Dale & Andree Evarts May Frank Orr & Jane Klomp June Ray & Edna Derringer Our thanks to all who have volunteered to host a campout. When everyone takes a turn no one has to do any more than one per year. Sunshine Lady Report: by all. Lyle continues to have problems and frequent doctor s appointments so is unable to attend the campouts for now Don Crane was unable to attend due to a possible heart ache which turned out to be negative but he also was scheduled for doctor s appointments and tests. BU Report: The 2015 Bounders United National Rally will be the Bounder Bash in Branson hosted by the Kangaroo Gals (formerly the Red Hat Roos). It is scheduled for Monday August 24, 2015 to Friday August 28, 2015 at America s Best Campground in Brandon, MO. It is limited to 100 rigs, the reservation Old Business: None New Business: The Vagabounders will be hosting the 2016 Bounders United National Rally Oct , 2016 at the Golden Village Palms in Hemet. Jim Schneider and Pat Brombach are the Rally Masters. We are looking for a Theme and logo. All suggestions are welcome. The Brombachs and Schneiders will be joining the LaBounders for their Christmas outing to encourage their assistance with this venture. A motion was made and seconded to close the meeting. Respectfully submitted by Betty Schneider, Secretary Minutes of December 13, 2014 meeting. The meeting was called to order at 11:07 AM in the club room of the Chula Vista RV Resort and Marina by President Jim Schneider. In attendance were Jim & Betty Schneider, Pat & Becky Brombach, Dale & Andree Evarts, Don & George Crane, Mike & Clydia Beaudet, Frank Or & Jane Klomp, Mel & Patsy Hamel (potential new members) and our guests, Bob & Pat Weithofer, Bounders United Executive Vice President and his wife. Minutes of the November 15 meeting were not available and the secretary could not find them! They will be printed in the next Roos News. Treasurer report by Becky Brombach, Treasurer was approved (it is not included here because again Betty can t find it. (She is also losing her mind! Try moving from a 4-bedroom house into an RV and NOT losing half of your mind and most of the possessions you have accumulated over a marriage of 51 years. I found my First Communion dress that I wore when I was seven years old! But not the Treasurer s report.) Membership report. Dale and Becky each want some membership packets. (Sorry not ready yet.)

3 elected Frank Orr President with Jim Schneider as Trail Boss report. Vice-President, the newly elected secretary was Feb Cranes & Beaudets Georgya Crane as Betty refused another term. The Mar Schneiders treasurer was to remain Becky. Apr Evarts May Orr/Klomp The meeting was adjourned while we congratulated Jun?? Derringer all of the winners! Jul 29-Aug 1 Bounder Roos FMCA Rally Madison, WI (FYI only) Aug Bounders United International Rally Bounder Bash in Branson, MO this is a Vagabounder campout Sep 29-Oct 3 BOA International Rally Charlotte Speedway, NC (FYI only) Oct?????? Nov?????? Dec 2015 Brombachs week after festival Jan 2016 Dec 2016 Brombachs week of festival Jan Sunshine Report by all. Brills remain on our prayer list as is Frank. Cranes are ok now except keep Georgya s daughter in your prayers. PS It turns out that we WERE NOT DUE to elect new officers until 2015 with them taking over in Oh well freedom came easily and surely went away quickly. ; > ) Respectfully (???) submitted, Betty Schneider, still secretary Membership??????, Chair Bounders United report. General election is coming up for president, western region vice-president, special interest vice-president and national secretary. Please consider running for one of these offices. Resumes must be submitted by March 15 th to the nominating committee Bob Scharmann (mailto:bndrbob@aol.com) New Business: Becky and Betty brought to our attention that many (make that all except the Vagabounders) appear to be charging a camp fee of $10 per rig to be paid by all campout attendees to help offset expenses incurred by wagon masters. This can be used or if not then it is turned into the treasurer to be saved for a special time i.e. Catered Christmas dinner, anniversary dinner or just a cake (we used to go to Pechanga in January and eat at the buffet until it threatened to totally wipe out our treasury). This was discussed and was tabled until another time. Also it has been noted that other chapters have all reservation money being sent to the treasurer and all checks to the campground, caterer etc. being written by the treasurer. This also was tabled. Chapter Elections: It was brought to our attention (by whom I do not know/remember) that we should have had elections and that the officers were to take over in January So we held elections and Packets containing Bounder United membership info and application, a Vagabounders trifold with membership application and a current camp out list will be available from Betty upon request. We are asking that each member take five packets, contact their local RV dealership and repair shops and ask that they place the packets in the Bounders on their lots. If you want or need more just ask Betty. I would like to ask all members to give me a month or so until we are moved into the RV and things can be found. Thank you. Betty Sunshine Lady Pat Brill, Chair The Brills remain on our and injured reserve list. We are all praying for a speedy recovery and to the fold. sick return

4 Frank has been having a rough time of it and could use your prayers and good wishes. The Cranes could certainly use some prayers for Georgya s daughter. Betty, what can I say, at age 70 she is hobbling around with a cast on her left foot. At two weeks in she has already demolished the cast and it is covered in Duct Tape. ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS: GET YOUR SHINGLES, FLU, PNEUMONIA and TDaP vaccines if you haven t already. These are recommended for all over 50. And stay away from people with the measles!!!!! Financial Matters Becky Brombach, Treasurer Financial Report Balance on 12/01/14 $1, Additions: 12/08/ Check from Hamel for Dec. campout 12/19/ Dues for Crane/Beaudet 12/19/ /50 (Scholarship Fund) Subtotal $ Subtractions: 12/19/ Bounders United Scholarship Fund Check # /19/ (Brombach -- reimburse for Dec. camp out check from Hamel) Balance on 12/31/14 $1,
