RUGGIERO MAYOR QUINN MR. PUPPIO PRESIDENT DANZI Please rise for the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. President Danzi- Before we get into the regular order of business this evening we have a couple of Presentations. The first presentation from Pat Quinn involves Glenolden School Students and the Memorial Day School District Essay Challenge. First and Second Place winners will be reading their essays in front of Council. The students are: James Razzi, 6 th grade, 1 st place; Sarah McFarland, 6 th grade, 2 nd place. Jordan Schreiber, 7 th grade, 1 st place. Madeline Dupont, 8 th grade, 1 st place; Gregory Paraison, 8 th grade, 2 nd place. Not present, Jimmy Tansey, 7 th grade, 2 nd place. The second is a Special Award Presentation from Chief Michael Donohue of the Glenolden Police Department to the following recipients who were instrumental in the initial response, investigation and successful prosecution of Marquis Thompson, of Chester; who was convicted last month at trial of two counts of third degree murder, for the hit and run deaths of Michael Taylor and Mark McNeill both 15 year old boys from Collingdale, as they innocently crossed Chester Pike, at Glenolden Avenue on the evening of December 9, Thompson was fleeing from Folcroft Police, after initially being pulled over for an observed traffic violation. He then fled the scene of the crash and abandoned the car in Norwood. He was arrested a short time later when stopped walking on Winona Avenue in Norwood. Those receiving awards are: Ofc. Michael Fiocca, Cpl. Chris Eiserman, Det. Cpl. William Bair all Folcroft PD; Larry Clupp, Police Dispatcher; Officers John Rolfe and Nick Sangmeister of Glenolden PD; Officer Denis Daly and Cpl. Chris Kennedy, from Norwood PD; Det. Jim Simpkins from Tinicum PD; Det. Robert Lythgoe and Det. Thomas Worrilow from CID; Det s. David McDonald and Tom Scarpatto also from CID; Officer Marc Hanly from Ridley Park PD; Cpl. Steven Ward, Pennsylvania State Police; Deputy DA Stephanie Wills, Assistant DA Geoff Paine and former ADA Elise Bradley; Chief Robert Adams from Collingdale PD; Det s. David McDonald and Tom Scarpatto from CID. This was a shining example of cooperative policing involving local, county, state and federal partners. Also, Eileen and Tom Taylor, parents of Michael Taylor and Missy McNeill, mother of Mark McNeill were also present at the Council meeting for the presentation. To Glenolden Borough Council: Due to my responsibilities required of me as a new mom conflicting with the responsibilities of a board member, I would like to resign from the Glenolden Library Board. A low water level alarm is not working on one of the boilers, and we ve been told the part to make the repair has been ordered. We have to process the final pay request and set up all warranties on special equipment. Park Project The inlet has been installed to address the drainage issue. The batting cage installation is complete. We are awaiting a price for complete replacement of the roof. The foundation is in place for the new storage building, and we are awaiting the pre-fabricated structure. We have also processed their first pay request. Sanitary Sewers We are in the process of designing the replacement of the mains on MacDade due to the conflict with the proposed bridge over the Muckinipates. There have been a number of conflicts found in the video taping as well as the uncovering of a buried MH. The MacDade Mall restoration on South Avenue is complete. We need to follow with PennDOT on the permit. It was reported to our office that a lateral replacement on 600 Glenfield revealed a direct connection of the roof downspout into the sanitary sewer system. This particular location was disconnected, but it is believed that the majority of the area may have similar illegal connections. Our recommendation is that all property owners suspected of the illegal connections be notified and given guidance and a specific time frame to come into compliance. There will be another meeting for the Eastern Delaware County 537 Plan at DELCORA on May 23, 2013 to review revised recommendations on the lateral inspection issue. MOTION CARRIED MOTION by Mrs. Cicala seconded by Mr. Ruggiero to appoint Cathy Mitchell to the Library Board, with term to expire December 31, MOTION CARRIED

5 5 BUILDING & ZONING Mr. Pfaff Mayor Quinn June, July and August will be casual attire and no meetings the first Tuesday of those months. PRESIDENT DANZI Since there is no one in the audience, there will be no motion to go out of the regular order of business to hear from the public tonight. MOTION by Mr. Pfaff seconded by Mr. McGarvey to pay all bills as presented. MOTION CARRIED President Danzi We will have an executive meeting immediately following this meeting.
