1 Fellow Campers August 2014 Volume 2014 VI Since 1963 From Around the Campfire It has been a great summer so far, just a little cooler than normal, with lots of camping and great people. I really enjoyed camping at Hesperia I have some good friends there. We are trying to get new members to join TTCM. We all have friends that have campers, why not invite them to one of our outings. Let them see the value that s here at our camp grounds. How their children can run free in the camp grounds, knowing we all look out for one another. That we have hook ups and an onsite dump station with a honey wagon service system, for a $12.00 per night if you re a member. Talk us up, see if we can get some new people to join. The tree cutting is going well. We have received our first payment. The new table committee has completed its research and is ordering 26 new plastic lifetime tables for Bellevue. We are also looking for new stackable arm chairs. I would like to thank Blossomland for doing a great job at Bellevue working to keep our camp grounds beautiful. I also would like to thank my wife Cheryl for getting the camp ground flowers planted. There are times available to be property tenders at Bellevue just sign up and get involved. I hope to see everyone at the All American this year. It s an election year so make sure you send in your ballot and have your vote counted. On a sad note Gene Conklin still not doing well however the good news is that Harriet is getting better so keep the family in your thoughts and prayers. Best Regards President Roger Vogel Remember to Vote!!

August 29 th September 1 st All American Rally Hesperia Join Planning Committee meeting Labor Day Weekend Day/Time TBD Voice of the Vice It s been a great camping season so far. The 4th of July weekend at Hesperia was wonderful. The campground was full, the kids had a blast with the planned activities, the float down on the river was a BIG time hit and our MAL chapter provided a great meal on Saturday. These are the type of events that make this club a family. The new tables for Bellevue have been ordered and should be delivered soon, if you would still like to donate to the fund contact a board member. The AAR will be here before you know it, please help out by getting your registration in and prepare for tailgating war!!!! Go PURDUE! There is still time for one more order of BUY-A-BRICK before the AAR, get them in soon. As always send them to me or give me a call if there are any questions. Finally get those ballets in before the deadline. This is how we all help determine the direction of this club. Daryl In Remembrance Please keep Scott and Lori Bouwman s family in your thoughts. On July 12 th Lori s mother Judy Hale, who was a past Grand Valley & TTCM member, passed away suddenly. They camped up until her father s health declined and passed away three and a half years ago. Restless Ones president, Fran Rivard, passed away July 12 th. Please keep them in your thoughts. THANK YOU Thanks to everyone who came out for the MAL s Pork BBQ Hesperia TTCM! Everyone seemed to have a great time! Chuck Dickinson Send in your All American Rally Reservation by August 13 th!!

Please welcome these men and ladies, Robert and Diean Bayle from Holton and William and Sherry Newman Jr. from Hesperia. The campground at Hesperia is in fine shape with all the help from the members up there. A big thank you to George Behler for providing the material and the labor for the big grill. Roger Merkins and Gorden Dennis for the new horseshoe pits. Lefty and Steve have done several of the projects that were assigned to them. 5 Happy Wanderers Well, here we are again. It was the 4 th of July weekend and the campground was a busy one. This weekend was called An Adventure Weekend with teens and all the kids. There were activities for all ages. It was great to see our President of TTCM, Roger, also. There was a lot of activity in Hesperia for Hesperia Days. The art fair and the parade were the best ever. There was also fireworks. We had quite a discussion about Charlie horses and what to do. Of course there was the good ole soap remedy but we won t go there. Roger suggested Quinine Water and Edna suggested Leg Cramps sold at Meyers. I figured the best way is to tough it out. Happy Wanderers were a small group again. We did welcome Kathy Craft back again. Kathy has a small motor home now since Irv passed away. Welcome back Kathy and family. A few of use took a ride to Ludington. WOW! Every town was busy that we went through. We had an ice cream cone in mind but the dairy bar was having free ice cream and there were about 300 cars in the lot. Hope, no ice cream there. Shelby and Hart had no ice cream stores but Pentwater had two and nope, the lines were too long. On to Ludington to the House of Flavors. Wow, they were having an art fair also and the lines to get ice cream were down the block and around the corner. So much for ice cream! We ended up back at the campground to get ready for our delicious pulled pork dinner with chips, Cole slaw, beans, and watermelon. Yummy. MAL s did a great job, even with Chuck in his new boot. Good luck with your boot, Chuck. I had a tour of the Behler s new rig. Wow! All the comforts of home. What a beauty. I m jealous as can be. Our next outing is August 9 th, it s a corn roast (if there is any). If you like corn, join us and bring a dish to pass and your own table service. We furnish the corn, butter, and coffee. Don t forget to register for the All American at Hesperia. Happy Wanderers are the Michigan State Spartans so save your memorabilia and bring it. So long, see you at the campground and smile and say Hi. Ruth Heimann If you are going to the All American Rally remember your items that have been requested and your items for a Tailgate!!

8 Bellevue Planning Meeting June 2014 Meeting was called to order at 10:15 am on June 21, 2014 by Kork Wielenga. Attendance: Inez Cummings- MAL, Dick Hamlin- Ex Board, Bill Oates- Dragon Train, Sherry Murrie and Harriet Conklin- Happy Campers, Nicky Wesphal- Duneland Winnies and Kork Weilenga- Bellevue Director. Old Business: Previously discussed were the dead trees on the east fence lines. The Planning Committee feels these needs to be done by professionals. New Business: 1) Special thanks to the DLW for all they did on the garage sale and re-shingling the electric building as well as several other things over the weekend, all in attendance agreed. 2) Campground inspector was in the third week of June and the Bellevue Campground passed with flying colors. There are now two separate inspectors one for water and one for the rest of things. 3) The pop machine was discussed and the decision was made to take out machine and put remaining pop in refrigerator. Dick informed everyone that he and Herman had found a place where they had reconditioned pop machines and would get further information. 4) Kork brought up that the recycling that s used for bottles and pop machine please be used for only that and not used for garbage as well. 5) Kork informed meeting that we can no longer get bulbs to fit light by the dump site and several other features need to be replaced with LED fixtures. Dick added that he would see if he could come up with an adaptor of some sort. 6) Planning Committee asked how was the $ maintenance budget decided on? Gas prices and the amount of mowing Bellevue campground has per week. Suggestions of raising maintenance budget to $ per year or create new line in budget for gas and keep maintenance at $ Proposed by Dick Hamlin, seconded by Bill Oates. 7) Planning Committee feels there should be a property tender flyer for every property tender so that it stays the same. Needs consistency. 8) The fact that Bellevue is not deciding what comes out of maintenance fees such as new internet and Direct TV. Committee wants to know how they came about. Who says it can be done? Dick Hamlin wanted directions on how to operate direct tv. Planning Committee stated that they are not happy with things getting done without permission such as comfortable chair being sold at garage sale, also all the tables. 9) Bill Oates- Dragon Train stated the Board President, Vice President and Brenda are running the campground as if it s their club- not TTCM S. They get to do whatever they want and he for one is looking for other places to go. 10) Discussion of Executive Board not following TTCM s Bylaws. Committee is finding information out about things they should have a say in. They feel if this continues there will be new tables and chairs in a building with no people. 11) Planning Committee feels discount rate for some members groups should apply to all outside groups not just some. With no further business to discuss, meeting was closed with Inez first and Dick seconding it at 11:01 am. Minutes taken by Nicky Wesphal
