3 Hi Everyone, Fall is now upon us. I hope you all had a wonderful summer! Hope you get a chance to get out and enjoy the fall season. Trips are finalized and are included in this SnowTimes issue. They are all sure to be a great time. These trips will all be run along with Four Winds Ski Club. Hope you can join us on one or many of these trips. Tony Zasadney has provided a wonderful article in this SnowTimes issue of our final volleyball outing. Unfortunately the volleyball was rained out but we were able to have a cookout and picnic with plenty of burgers and hot dogs donated by CMSC and cooked by Phil Skultety. Everyone brought something to share so we had plenty of food to share and enjoy. We probably had about 15 people at the picnic/cook-out. Enjoy Tony s photos from this outing. For those wondering where things are at with the merger, the membership voting concluded for Oak Park Ski Club at the end of August. The proposal to merge, take on their club name, (Four Winds Ski, Ride, and Socialize), and continue to have the lodge as a self-sustaining entity with the same name (Oak Park Ski Club Lodge) has passed both board and membership voting for Oak Park Ski Club as we have received the required 20% membership vote and we have also received more than the 2/3rds approval for those voting. The Oak Park board certainly appreciates all of our current members who have voted. voting it appears that this proposal is likely to pass their membership as well. If their membership does pass this proposal then both boards and both memberships will have approved the merger proposal so the two clubs will at that time be considered to have merged. There will still be plenty to do after that which will occur over time. Both clubs are assuming that the merger will become a reality so based on that assumption the newly formed club plans to be at the ski show from October 21 st to October 23 rd to promote the merger of the two long time existing clubs, all of the trips planned and social activities that the club is involved with, as well as the lodge that is coming along as part of the merger. It is an exciting time for both clubs as we move forward together. We can always use volunteers to help promote our social events, trips, lodge, and the newly formed club, so if you have interest in volunteering for the ski show please let one of our board members know. In addition if you have the opportunity, come on out to our upcoming meeting at Draft Picks in Mount Prospect on Tuesday, October 4 th and/or to Real Time Sports on Thursday, October 6 th as Four Winds concludes their membership voting on this important proposal. As always, keep an eye on our website, meetup, and the SnowTimes for upcoming events. Thanks again, Russ Our club now awaits conclusion of Four Winds membership voting which concludes on Thursday, October 6 th at their general meeting at Real Time Sports in Elk Grove Village. Based on their current membership

We can always use volunteers and this year we have lot to promote. It is likely that Oak Park Ski Club and Four Winds Ski Club will have approved merging clubs so we want to promote our newly formed and larger club, all of the planned upcoming trips, the many social events held in the past and coming up, as well as our wonderful lodge available for membership family events as well as club trips all year long. 13 OPSC Hosts Monday Night Volleyball Season Picnic Closer: PR Report Story by Tony Zasadney, PR; photos and captions by author The meeting time: 6:30 PM. The date: Monday August 29th The place: Busse Woods, the club s favorite playground, near Woodfield. Unfortunately, the game was RAINED OUT. Fortunately, Caroline had taped a sketched map on the inside windshield of her SUV directing us to a nearby pavilion, so nobody had to turn home. In spite of the rainy weather there were fifteen intrepid souls who showed up. In the shelter were Russ, Sheri and Natalie Butler; Diane Butler, Judy Swanson and daughter Jamie. There were Sue Ryan, Judy Kraus, Candace Skultety, Phil Skultety (both from Four Winds); Patrice Conoway (Ibex), Pat Mitchell, Michael Kalagian, this writer/snapshooter; and of course, Caroline Knoff, Ski Master and picnic organizer. Our summer volleyball series will resume on June Until then we hope to see you all at the scheduled club meetings: Draft Picks, 912 Busse Road, Mt. Prospect, first and third Tuesdays.
14 Final Game Rained Out Caroline had the volleyball picnic moved under a nearby forest preserve pavilion. Just a-keepin' Those Patties and Franks a-cookin' At the ready: Phil Skultety (Four Winds SC Vice President), Russ Butler (OPSC President), Sue Ryan, and Judy Swanson.
15 Back for Seconds? That's one well-loaded picnic spread. Patrice is seen helping herself to dessert, maybe? Raining on the Outside, Smiling on the Inside Judy Swanson, Dave Breyer (OPSC Executive Secretary), Caroline Knoff (OPSC Ski Master), Michael Kalagian.
