1 Dear Colleagues Berlin 2017 Venue and Accommodation Final Programme Travel Information Request for Payment We have now finalised the registration and preliminary organisation of the Summer School 2017 in Berlin, Germany. Venue Lectures and practical sessions will take place at the Institute of Veterinary Pathology of the Freie Universität Berlin, Campus Düppel. The Veterinarium Progressum which is the advanced training center of the Department of Veterinary Medicine, is equipped with seats, tables and electrical outlets for all participants. The histopathological part of the summer school will be carried out in the lecture hall of the Institute of Veterinary Pathology, located about 200 m away. Internet access is possible via eduroam-network or can alternatively be provided if you do not have eduroam-access. Handouts, however, will not be provided. Therefore, it would be to your advantage to bring a laptop/tablet or printouts along with you. The documents will be available for you on the ECVP website. The password needed for accession will be provided prior to the summer school. Beverages will be available during two breaks which take place throughout the day. An arrangement has been made with the campus cafeteria to facilitate lunch at a discounted rate. More information will be provided before commencement of the summer school. 1

It may be a good idea to share with those participants arriving at the same time. By public transport: Public transportation will take you about an hour. Take bus no. 109 (direction of Zoologischer Garten ) to the underground station Jakob-Kaiser-Platz. Here, transfer to the underground railway (U-Bahn) U7 (direction of Rudow ) which takes you to the station Fehrbelliner Platz. Here, you transfer to the U3. At the final destination, Krumme Lanke, you leave the underground and take the bus no. 118 (direction Drewitz, Stern Center ) or no. 622 (direction Stahnsdorf, Hildegardstr. ) departing on the opposite side of the main street. Five stops later, you arrive at the bus 3

4 stop Clauertstr., walk across the main street into Clauertstr. and take the next left into Königsweg which you follow until arriving on Campus. To your right, you will see a sign leading to the entrance of the Institute of Veterinary Pathology (building no. 31 on the map, below) and, a few meters further to your left, the entrance to the Institute of Veterinary Physiology (building no. 11) which leads on to the Veterinarium Progressum (building no. 9) and to the cafeteria (building no. 7). Travel Information from Berlin-Schönefeld (SXF) Airport to the Institute of Veterinary Pathology, Freie Universität Berlin, Campus Düppel Taxi: Travelling by taxi costs approx. 45 and takes about 35 minutes. By public transport: Public transportation will take you about an hour and 15 minutes. Take the metro railway (S-Bahn) S9 (direction S+U Pankow ) to the station Ostkreuz. Transfer to the S7 (direction Potsdam Hbf ) to the station Wannsee. There, you need to take the bus no. 118 (direction Rathaus Zehlendorf ) to the bus stop Clauertstr. From there, you can walk to the campus as described above. Travel Information from Berlin-Tegel (TXL) Airport to the Best Western Hotel Taxi: Travelling by taxi costs approx. 23 and takes about 15 minutes. By public transport: Take the airport shuttle no. 109 to the train station Zoologischer Garten, transfer to the underground railway (U-Bahn) U9 to the final destination of Rathaus Steglitz. This station is located directly next to the hotel. Travelling time will be about 30 to 45 minutes. 4

5 Travel Information from Berlin-Schönefeld (SXF) Airport to the Best Western Hotel Taxi: Travelling by taxi costs approx. 40 and takes about 25 minutes. By public transport: Take the the metro railway (S-Bahn) S45 to the final destination Südkreuz, transfer to the S41 (direction Ringbahn S41 ). The next station will be the "Schöneberg". There, you will have to transfer again to Line S1 (direction of Wannsee ). The third station will be S-Bahnhof "Rathaus Steglitz", which is also located directly next to the hotel. Travelling time will be about 50 minutes. Request for Payment If you are a trainee in veterinary pathology and also an ESVP member (or have applied to become an ESVP member), the registration fee for the Summer School 2017 will be 450. The fee for non-esvp members will be 650. The registration fee for the Summer School 2017 in Berlin, Germany, is due by 14 May Payment will represent the final confirmation of your registration. We attach a payment form for completion and return. Please be aware that the registration fee is non-refundable and we do not allow payment at the Summer School.
