2 PRESIDENT S MESSAGE April 2018 Dear Friends, Our joint fundraiser with the Parents of the Santa Rosa Symphony Youth Orchestra, AN EVENING IN VIEN- NA, was a huge success. More than 200 guests enjoyed the champagne, the fancy pastries, the auctioning of 24 painted violins and a cello and bass, the music, and the dancing at Shone Farm. The Youth Orchestra will be sent off to Europe in June with warm wishes and full pockets. Thank you to all who made this possible. Thanks too to Rialto Cinemas in Sebastopol who presented films of the lives of four composers on eight showings in April and gave the League a percentage of the box office. They are truly community minded. Coming in May are PAINT AND DECORATE A BIRD HOUSE (see page 6) on May 5; TEA AT McDONALD MANSION (see page 7) on Mother s Day, May 13; and THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (see page 8) (37 Plays in 97 Minutes) on May 17. That ends our Parties for this year and we start our new Party Book on June 21 with Joe Edelberg, violin, and Stacey Pelinka, piccolo and flute, at Deerfield Ranch Winery. See you at the luncheon on June 13! Warm wishes, Liz LEAGUE WEB PAGE Visit us online at to find out about upcoming events, buy tickets and help support music students.
