Our chapter supporters did a great job with their product demos and presentations. Many of us enjoyed meeting with the new and the experienced chapter supporters. For some of our chapter supporters this event is the only opportunity we have to see them all year. Thanks to all of our chapter supporters for the great prizes for our raffle and their continued support each year. We appreciate all you do through out the year for all the events we have. We had wonderful weather, good food, and a great turn out. The feed back this year about the whole event was that it was even better than last year. We mixed it up and went with a Spanish themed fiesta meal. Fajitas Carne Asada, Chicken, and Shrimp, served with all the fixings including Mexican rice, and Jack Emlay s special refried beans. The kids had a great time with, the bounce house, and Larry Hughes set up a piñata full of candy and toys for the kids. The adults had the trade show Table Top, great food, a DJ The Sundance Kid, friends in the industry, and the great raffle prizes. This event was so much fun and ran so smooth. We could not have done it with out the help from our volunteers. George and Shaleen Stevenson program chair and organizers of the chapter supporters. Jack Emlay, Richard Lynch and Scott Houseman did the setup for the tent, tables, chairs, and the lighting for the pavilion. The meat was barbequed by Bill from Rocklin SCP, and Jordan from Rancho Cordova SCP. The carne asada, shrimp and chicken were amazing. The kitchen crew was Jordon SCP, Bucky SCP, Bill SCP, Jillian Simon, Scott Houseman, Karl and Linda Eggers, Larry Hughes, Jack Emlay, and our neighbors Justin Coots, Tim Rocha, Bobby Rocha and Ralene Rocha. I want to give a very special thanks to John from Parrot Island Pools for all of his help in the kitchen. John not only brought much of his own supplies but he was there all day prepping the foods for grilling and salads. He manned almost everything in that kitchen. Jack Emlay engineered and set up all the lighting, set up walls, the tent and much more. Jack also spent a lot of time in the kitchen prepping food with John and I. Larry Hughes VP worked with Jillian and I for two days setting everything up and prepping for the food. Richard Lynch was around all day and night and helped with set up and clean up. Good job on the food, Jillian with the mac and cheese and Bucky with grilled bell peppers and onions were a huge hit. Karl Eggers, thank you for organizing and manning the generators for the much needed power. Linda

2 P A G E 2 Eggers, and Jack Emlay, took care of membership, camping trip sign-ups, and the raffle tickets. Good job. The clean up included all of the above listed volunteers and many others. Thank you to everyone for their help. This year s table top was so much fun, thank you to our membership that participated in this once again fantastic event. Our chapter has had some friends go out with some health issues. Dave Donkin is back after his surgery and his sick route has been fulfilled. Thank you everyone for your help with sick route. Nancy Carmody when out for a while and I hear is doing much better now. Her family was able to continue servicing pools with out sick route coverage being needed. We are on stand by. Dave and Nancy our thoughts are with you while you recover. Please let us know if you need anything. Many of you may remember Larry and Brenda Bloomenfield, he was a member of our chapter a couple of years ago. On Thursday May 16 th Larry was in a horrible motorcycle accident. He almost lost one of his arms from the elbow down, but doctors managed to get circulation back to his hand. They plated, pinned and bolted his arm back together. Both arms are broken, with many cuts and lacerations to his face and body. With rehabilitation doctors are optimistic Larry may heal the broken bones in 6 weeks. Recovery from an accident like his will take some time. Our wishes for a speedy recovery go out to you Larry. Unfortunately Larry is no longer covered by any IPSSA Insurance or sick route coverage since he didn t continue his coverage after he left our chapter, but a few members of our chapter have expressed interest in helping Larry, and Brenda out. If you are interested in helping, Roger Jones of Leisure Supply has a list of Larry s accounts for any one interested in taking a couple or a few pools. Really anything would help. Roger will help out any service company that help s Larry with products needed to service his pools at a very, very discounted price for the duration of their services. The Capital Valley IPSSA Santa s Summer Getaway is September, 13 th 15th.This is a great chance to squeeze in that last camping trip of the season. The location is the Sly Park Recreation Area. There is lake access and meals are provided. There are crafts for the kids and several activities for everyone to do. Many Chapter supporters are there as well. Come to this months meeting to sign up for a discounted price. This is the last chance for the discount. We look forward to seeing all of our members there. Our Chapter is in need of a Newsletter Editor. The position is easy and pays a stipend per month for work on the news letter. Please contact Gregg Simon at (916) if you are interested. The IPSSA Financial office has a new home. The mailing address is the same but the physical location has changed. The new address is 5800 Stanford Ranch Rd. Suite 220 Rocklin, CA So anyone looking to stop by and say hi, now you know where to go. June s chapter meeting is Wednesday June 5 th, and it will include a guest speaker, Josh Fennemin from SCP, with a presentation on Pool 360. SCP will also be providing dinner. We have a Polaris 280 from Jandy,Polaris,Zodiac to auction off, bring your check books, Starting bid is $350. Money raised helps support our chapter. There is no meeting in July.
