1 Sss Newsletter No.13, February 2019 ACECC OUTLOOK The Asian Civil Engineering Coordinating Council ACECC 35th Executive Committee Meeting on October 8-10, 2018, at Engineers Australia, Melbourne, Australia The ACECC 35 th Executive Committee Meeting was held on October 8-10 of 2018, at the meeting room in Engineers Australia Melbourne office, Australia. The welcome addresses were first given by Ms. Trish White, Chairman and National President, Engineers Australia. The meetings and other activities were all very successful. The ACECC Secretariat would like to thank Engineers Australia for their hospitality and great assistance for the success of the meeting. The schedule of the activities were shown below. 1 October 8 9:00-12:30 The 24 th Technical Coordination Committee Meeting (TCCM) 13:30-17:15 The 29 th Planning Committee Meeting (PCM) 17:30-20:30 Welcome Cocktail Reception at Engineers Australia October 9 9:00-12:30 The 35 th Executive Committee Meeting (ECM) 13:30-15:00 Technical Tour -Yarra Park Water Recycling Facility Technical Tour 15:45-17:00 Technical Presentation: Tunnels and Stations PPP by Mr. Andrew Henry, AAW Design Joint Venture, Melbourne 18:00-20:00 Farewell Dinner at RACV City Club The followings are the major results of the meetings: 1) The detailed plans of the 8 th CECAR, which will be held on April 16-19, in Tokyo were reported by JSCE. Most of session plans have already been finalized, and ACECC members are requested to make registrations of the 8 th CECAR. 2) Chair of the Financial Committee was changed to Mr. Sohail Bashir (IEP). 3) ACECC will have 20 th anniversary in September, To celebrate this occasion, ACECC will collect essays from the current and past contributors to ACECC foundation and its operations. 4) ACECC the 37th Executive Committee Meeting will be held at Goa, India to be hosted by ICE(India), and the 38th ECM will be held at either Karachi or Lahore, Pakistan to be hosted by IEP. The 37th ECM will be held on the last week of September 2019 to include the 20th anniversary date of the ACECC, September 27, ) Mr. Sohail Bashir (IEP) was appointed to be the new leader for the ACECC future leader activities. 6) The winners of the ACECC awards were chosen and approved by the ACECC Executive Committee. The winners are listed on the next page, and the awarding ceremony will be held
