The new scoreboard replaces a scoreboard that was nearly 17 years old. 2. For the fourth year in a row the Dodge City Regional Airport received no discrepancies during their annual Federal Aviation Administration safety inspection. The inspection covers many daily activities that occur at the Airport as well as all the trainings and record keeping that has to take place for the Fueling agents, Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting, and Airport personnel. In August, Airport staff was recognized by FAA for having the perfect inspection three years in a row which is a very difficult accomplishment. Staff would like to thank everyone involved in ensuring that the inspection remain discrepancy free. 3. Work has resumed at Jean Russell Park on the new play-set and safety surfacing. This project was delayed by cold temperatures last fall as the safety surfacing requires that temperatures cannot drop below 50 degrees at any time during installation. 4. Construction crews started removing a portion of the asphalt Runway 14/32 at Dodge City Regional Airport last week. The runway will be placed back with concrete and the project is slated to be complete in fall of This project is broken up into three phases. Phases one and two will be completed in fall of 2018 and the third and final phase is to start in 2019 with completion in the fall. Overall the project will cost $12 million and is funded 95% by Federal funds with a 5% local match. 5. Water crews worked on a main break near Dodge City Regional Airport. A 16 water main was exposed and repaired within the same day. Services were interrupted to the town of Wright and various businesses in Dodge City Industrial Park from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. Crews also relocated a 3 main that feeds Central School.
