EASON: While the aircraft is on the ground, tests have shown that the above ATC units reply to all air traffic control interrogations. This is not in accordance with current regulatory requirements. The purpose of this Service ulletin is to make the FALCON 900 compliant to regulatory documents ED-73 and ICAO Annex 10 - Volume 4 - Amendment 77 which require that certain ATC replies are inhibited on the ground. DESCIPTION: The operation consists in modifying the aircraft wiring connections to ATC1 and ATC2 connectors. Note: S F (TD-94D - Extended Squitter inhibition) consists in similar operation on the same equipment. To reduce maintenance time, Dassault Aviation recommends to comply simultaneously with both Service ulletins. ELATED S s: S S 348 and revisions and S 371. COMPLIANCE: ecommended at the first convenient opportunity. ESTIMATED LAO-HS: MATEIAL INFOMATION: 2 hours for modification and testing. 1 hour access time. EFFECTIVITY This Service ulletin is applicable to MYSTEE FALCON 900 aircraft with serial numbers 1 through 202, equipped with: COLLINS TD 94D ATCs P/N ), or COLLINS TD 94D ATCs P/N (S F and revision 1 or DASSAULT AVIATION modification M3623 or S F and revision 1 or DASSAULT AVIATION modification M3791).. EASON Contrary to current regulatory requirements, while on the ground, the above ATC units reply to all air traffic control interrogations. The purpose of this Service ulletin is to make the MYSTEE FALCON 900 compliant to regulatory documents ED 73 and ICAO Annex 10 Volume 4 Amendment 77 which require that certain ATC replies are inhibited on the ground. APPOVAL This Service ulletin covers DASSAULT AVIATION modification MF900 M5013 which has been approved by EASA. The technical content of this document is approved under the authority of DOA nr. 8 SEVICE ULLETIN FALCON 900 F ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTUCTIONS A. PELIMINAY STEPS (1) Aircraft on wheels, battery switches OFF, no ground power unit connected to the aircraft. (2) Open the nose cone. (3) If necessary, remove the interior completion items required to gain access to ATC1 (L3SH), (LH electrical cabinet, frames 4 5).. GENEAL ELECTICAL INSTUCTIONS (1) When mechanical retrofit and/or modification operations are performed on the aircraft, take special care to protect the wiring in order to prevent metal chips (or burrs) from penetrating into the wire bundles, since they could eventually damage the insulation sheathing of the wires. Whenever possible, it is recommended that the wiring be removed from the work area. If that is not possible, it is absolutely necessary to protect the wiring. (2) Check that all connections are properly protected to ensure proper insulation and that markings are visible and appropriate. (3) Connector wires should be inserted and extracted as per the recommendations in MI, chapter (4) Electric and electronic equipment should be removed and installed as per the recommendations in MI, chap C. MODIFICATION ON AICAFT WITH S/N 179 EXCEPT S/N 169 (1) emove ATC 1 (L3SH) and ATC 2 (3SH) (IPC, chap , fig. 11, item 40. Gain access to the wiring connected to connectors (L3SHA), (L3SH), (3SHA) and (3SH). (2) Make the electrical modifications in accordance with the diagram in figure 1. NOTE: On each ATC, disconnect #24 gauge wires from terminal 53 of connectors (L3SH) and (3SH) and reconnect them to terminal 27 of connectors (L3SHA) and (3SHA). D. MODIFICATION ON AICAFT WITH S/N 179 AND S/N 169 (1) emove ATC 1 (L3SH) and ATC 2 (3SH) (IPC, chap , fig. 11, item 40. Gain access to the wiring connected to connectors (L3SH1), (L3SH2), (3SH1) and (3SH2). (2) Make the electrical modifications in accordance with the diagram in figure 2. NOTE: Disconnect wire from terminal 53 of connector (L3SH2) and reconnect it to terminal 27 of connector (L3SH1). 9 SEVICE ULLETIN FALCON 900 F E. CHECK TESTING INSTALLATION (1) Install the ATCs in the aircraft. (2) In the TU 1 (or the control box CTL92), select the mode A. (3) Contact the Air Traffic Control (secondary radar) to obtain an STC s interrogation. Verify there is no reply from ATC 1 to this interrogation. (4) epeat the same operation with the ATC 2. (5) In accordance with the instructions of Maintenance Manual, procedure , simulate the flight position. Then, verify there is a reply from ATC 1 and ATC 2 to the Control s interrogation. F. DOCUMENTATION Incorporate the following Temporary Changes into the Airplane Flight Manual: No. 92 (MYSTEE FALCON 900 with S/Ns 179 except S/N 169). No. 23 (MYSTEE FALCON 900 with S/Ns 179 and S/N 169). G. FINAL STEPS everse the operations described in paragraph 2. A. H. ECODING ecord compliance with this Service ulletin in the appropriate aircraft documents. Fill out the card located at the end of the Service ulletin and mail or fax it to Dassault Aviation or Dassault Falcon Jet. Incorporate the diagram in figure 1 or 2 into the Wiring Diagram Manual.
