NOTE: Before this bulletin can be signed off as "completed" a test flight will be necessary to make sure the flight data information is correct. REASON To make the S Engine Trend Monitor (ETM) compatible with the engine indicators. DESCRIPTION This service bulletin provides parts and instructions to remove the ETM and install S ETM. 2 A service bulletin published by Cessna Aircraft Company may be recorded as completed in an aircraft log only when the following requirements are satisfied: 1) The mechanic must complete all of the instructions in the service bulletin, including the intent therein. 2) The mechanic must correctly use and install all applicable parts supplied with the service bulletin kit. Only with written authorization from Cessna Aircraft Company can substitute parts or rebuilt parts be used to replace new parts. 3) The mechanic or airplane owner must use the technical data in the service bulletin only as approved and published. 4) The mechanic or airplane owner must apply the information in the service bulletin only to aircraft serial numbers identified in the Effectivity section of the bulletin. 5) The mechanic or airplane owner must use maintenance practices that are identified as acceptable standard practices in the aviation industry and governmental regulations. No individual or corporate organization other than Cessna Aircraft Company is authorized to make or apply any changes to a Cessna-issued service bulletin, service letter, or flight manual supplement without prior written consent from Cessna Aircraft Company. Cessna Aircraft Company is not responsible for the quality of maintenance performed to comply with this document, unless the maintenance is accomplished at a Cessna-owned Citation Service Center. This information shall be considered an amendment to the Cessna Manufacturer's Maintenance Manual and should be completed within the scheduled time period. 3 PUBLICATIONS AFFECTED Cessna Model 560 Illustrated Parts Catalog Cessna Model 560 Wiring Diagram ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS 1. Prepare the airplane for maintenance. A. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position. B. Disconnect electrical power from the airplane. (1) Disconnect the airplane battery. (2) Disconnect external electrical power. C. Attach maintenance warning tags to the battery and external power receptacle that have "DO NOT CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" written on them. 2. (Refer to Figure 1, Sheet 1.) Remove the Engine Trend Monitor and return to Cessna for upgrade. (Refer to the Maintenance Manual, Chapter 77, Shadin Engine Trend Monitor System - Maintenance Practices.) NOTE: Operators: The existing engine trend monitor may be modified. Contact Cessna Citation Repairs to schedule modification at (US/Canada) or (International) or telefax or to: citationrepair@cessna.textron.com. This will require advance notification. Citation Repairs will schedule the units and arrange for their return. Allow five to seven days for modification. This service bulletin may not be signed off as completed unless the units are scheduled through Cessna Citation Repairs. 3. (Airplanes thru -0625) (Refer to Figure 2, Sheet 1.) Change the wiring. 4. (Refer to Figure 1, Sheet 1.) Install one S Engine Trend Monitor. (Refer to the Maintenance Manual, Chapter 77, Shadin Engine Trend Monitor System - Maintenance Practices.) 5. Do a test of the engine trend monitor. NOTE: Step 5AA will require the airplane to be flight-tested. A. Make sure the airplane is in a location that engine runs can be performed. B. Apply electrical power to the airplane. C. Connect the battery. D. Move the BATT switch to the ON position. E. Turn the AVIONICS POWER SWITCH to the ON position. F. Put the ETM into data entry mode. (1) Turn the power off to the ETM. (2) Pull out the key display to locate the mode switch access hole on the top right rear of the unit. (Refer to the Maintenance Manual, Chapter 77, Shadin Engine Trend Monitor System - Display and Key Recorder Removal Installation.) (3) Useasmallflat head screwdriver, rotate the mode switch counterclockwise from position F to position E. Page 3

4 (4) Install the key display and power on the ETM. (Refer to the Maintenance Manual, Chapter 77, Shadin Engine Trend Monitor System - Display and Key Recorder Removal Installation.) NOTE: When in the data mode function use the switch functions in the data entry mode switch function table below. Data Entry Mode Switch Functions ENGINE AIR/NAV CONFIG KEY Airframe entry file Left engine entry file Right engine entry file Miscellaneous entry file G. Set the rotary switch to the ENGINE position for the entry of the aircraft tail number, aircraft serial number, aircraft total time, and aircraft total cycles. H. Enter the information for the aircraft tail number, aircraft serial number, aircraft total time, and aircraft total cycles. NOTE: Use the DETAIL DOWN switch to select the character type, blank symbols or special symbols. NOTE: Use the ITEM INCR or ITEM DECR to scroll up or down. NOTE: Use the DETAIL UP switch to go to the next character position. I. When the data is entered, push TEST to record into system memory. (1) Do Step 5H for aircraft serial number, aircraft total time, and aircraft total cycle entries. J. Set the rotary switch on the front panel of the key display to the AIR/NAV position for the entry of the left engine serial number, left engine total time, and left engine number of starts. K. Enter the data. NOTE: Use the DETAIL DOWN switch to select the character type, blank symbols or special symbols. NOTE: Use the ITEM INCR or ITEM DECR to scroll up or down. NOTE: Use the DETAIL UP switch to go to the next character position. L. Enter the data, then push TEST to record into system memory. (1) Do Step 5K for left engine total time, and left engine number of starts entries. M. Set the rotary switch on the front panel of the key display to the CONFIG position for the entry of the right engine serial number, right engine total time, and right engine number of starts. N. Enter the data. NOTE: Use the DETAIL DOWN switch to select the character type, blank symbols or special symbols. NOTE: Use the ITEM INCR or ITEM DECR to scroll up or down. NOTE: Use the DETAIL UP switch to go to the next character position. O. Enter the data, then push TEST to record into system memory. (1) Do Step 5N for right engine total time, and right engine number of starts entries. Page 4

5 P. Set the rotary switch on the front panel of the key display to the KEY position for the entry of Greenwich Mean Time, date, bus voltage source and sample rate. NOTE: The sample rate is to be set to 30 minutes and the bus voltage source is to be set externally. NOTE: Use the DETAIL DOWN switch to select the character type, blank symbols or special symbols. NOTE: Use the ITEM INCR or ITEM DECR to scroll up or down. NOTE: Use the DETAIL UP switch to go to the next character position. Q. Enter the data, then push TEST to record into system memory. R. Put the ETM into Operational Mode. (1) Remove electrical power from the airplane. (2) Turn the AVIONICS POWER SWITCH to the OFF position. (3) Pull the key display out. (4) Turn the mode select switch to the "F" position. (5) Install the key display. S. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position. (1) Connect the battery to the airplane. T. Turn the AVIONICS POWER SWITCH to the ON position. U. Turn the ETM on. V. Turn the rotary switch to the CONFIG position. (1) Push the PAGE UP switch to select the title information for the aircraft series, aircraft tail number, aircraft serial number, left engine serial number, right engine serial number, and power check sample interval, make sure the information is correct. (2) Push the ITEM INCR switch to view the selected information. (3) Make sure the information displayed is the same with other related flight instruments. W. Set the rotary switch to the AIR/NAV position. (1) Push the PAGE UP switch to select the title information for the time, date, position, altitude, speed and temperature, make sure the information is correct. (2) Push the ITEM INCR switch to view the selected information. (3) Make sure the information displayed is the same with other related flight instruments. X. Start right and left engines. (Refer to the Airplane Flight Manual, Section IV, Normal Procedures - Starting Engines.) Y. Set the rotary switch to the ENGINE position. (1) Push the PAGE UP switch to select the title information for the left engine data (N1), turbine speed (N2), inter-turbine temperature (ITT), fuel flow, fuel used. (2) Push the ITEM INCR switch to view the selected information. (3) Make sure the information displayed is the same with other related flight instruments. (4) Do Steps 5Y1 thru 5Y3 for the right engine. (5) Push the PAGE UP switch to select the title information engine chip detector, surface deice unit, bleed air valve (throttle must be above 60% before information will come into view), bleed air anti-ice valve (throttle must be above 85% before information will come into view), bus voltage source, weight on wheels sensor, and windshield bleed air valve. 6 (6) Push the ITEM INCR switch to view the selected information. (7) Make sure the information displayed is the same with other related flight instruments. (8) Push the PAGE UP switch to select the title information left engine total cycles, right engine total cycles, and aircraft total cycles. (9) Push the ITEM INCR switch to view the selected information. (10) Make sure the information displayed is correct. (11) Push the PAGE UP switch to select the title information flight display timer. (12) Push the ITEM INCR switch to view the selected information. (13) Make sure the information displayed is correct. Z. Set the rotary switch to the KEY position. (1) Make sure the data key is installed into the unit. (2) Make sure the information displayed is correct. AA. Perform a flight test. (Refer to the Airplane Flight Manual, Section III - Operating Procedures, Normal Procedures.) (1) Make sure the information displayed in-flight is correct with other related flight instruments. 6. Make sure that the Flight Crew Operations Summary included with this service bulletin is given to the crew to inform them of the operational changes resulting from incorporation of this service bulletin. 7. Record that this service bulletin has been completed. A. Complete a Maintenance Transaction Report. B. Put a copy of the completed Maintenance Transaction Report in the airplane logbook. C.
