1 SERVICE BULLETIN TITLE NAVIGATION - TDR-94D TRANSPONDER UPGRADE EFFECTIVITY MODEL SERIAL NUMBERS 560 ( Encore+) -0751thru-0802 with diversity enhanced surveillance transponders The equivalent of this service bulletin has been incorporated on production airplanes and On. NOTE: SL should be accomplished in conjunction with this service bulletin. REASON Airplanes that operate in the Australia, Singapore FIR, and Hong Kong areas require transponders that can meet operational requirements. DESCRIPTION This service bulletin contains parts and instructions to upgrade the TDR-94D transponders to meet operational requirements. COMPLIANCE OPTIONAL. This service bulletin can be accomplished at the discretion of the owner. A service bulletin published by Cessna Aircraft Company may be recorded as "completed" in an aircraft log only when the following requirements are satisfied: 1) The mechanic must complete all of the instructions in the service bulletin, including the intent therein. 2) The mechanic must correctly use and install all applicable parts supplied with the service bulletin kit. Only with written authorization from Cessna Aircraft Company can substitute parts or rebuilt parts be used to replace new parts. 3) The mechanic or airplane owner must use the technical data in the service bulletin only as approved and published. 4) The mechanic or airplane owner must apply the information in the service bulletin only to aircraft serial numbers identified in the "Effectivity" section of the bulletin. 5) The mechanic or airplane owner must use maintenance practices that are identified as acceptable standard practices in the aviation industry and governmental regulations. No individual or corporate organization other than Cessna Aircraft Company is authorized to make or apply any changes to a Cessna-issued service bulletin, service letter, or flight manual supplement without prior written consent from Cessna Aircraft Company. Cessna Aircraft Company is not responsible for the quality of maintenance performed to comply with this document, unless the maintenance is accomplished at a Cessna-owned Service Center. To simulate aircraft in air. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS 1. Prepare the airplane for maintenance. A. Make sure that the airplane is electrically grounded. B. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position. C. Disconnect electrical power from the airplane. (1) Disconnect the airplane battery. (2) Disconnect external electrical power. D. Attach maintenance warning tags to the battery and external power receptacle that have "DO NOT CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" writtenonthem. 2. Remove the TDR-94D transponders. (Refer to the Model 560 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, Collins TDR-94D Dual Transponder System - Maintenance Practices.) 3. Send the transponders to Cessna for exchange. NOTE: Owner/Operators: The existing TDR-94D transponders may be returned to Cessna Aircraft Company, Cessna Service Parts & Programs, 7121 Southwest Boulevard, Wichita, KS 67215, USA, and exchanged for an upgraded unit. Due to limited availability, advance scheduling is required, please expedite the return of the removed part. 4. Install two TDR-94D Transponders. (Refer to the Model 560 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, Collins TDR-94D Dual Transponder System - Maintenance Practices.) 5. Do a test of the transponders. A. Prepare the airplane for the test. (1) Remove the maintenance warning tags and connect the airplane battery. (2) Move the airplane to an area where a valid GPS signal is received. Page 2 November 13, 2013

3 SERVICE BULLETIN (3) Connect the pitot-static test set. (4) Connect external electrical power. (5) Connect the Landing Gear Simulator Test Boxes. (6) Move the DC POWER BATT switch to the BATT position. (7) Move the AVIONICS POWER switch to the ON position. (8) Move the switch on the Landing Gear Simulator Test Boxes to IN AIR. (9) Set the flight ID to in the control display unit (CDU). (10) Set the transponders to 1200 in the CDU. NOTE: The number 2 transponder will be made active during the second half of the transponder test for each FMS. (11) Set the pilot's and co-pilot's barometric altimeters to (12) Enter a valid flight plan into FMS1 and FMS2 (if FMS2 is a Rockwell Collins FMS). (13) Configure the pilot's PFD to display the flight plan from FMS1. (14) Configure the co-pilot's PFD to display the flight plan from FMS2 (if FMS2 is a Rockwell Collins FMS). (15) Pre-select an altitude of 17,500 feet. (16) Select a heading of 30 degrees. (17) Test the GNSS ALT reporting. (a) Disengage the ADC 1 and ADC 2 circuit breakers. (b) Do the transponder test with the IFR (c) Record the GNSS ALT from the IFR-6000 test set in the Transponder Test table. NOTE: The recorded value should be the approximate field elevation and can be viewed on the MON BDS 0,5 screen. (d) Do the GNSS ALT reporting for transponder 2. (e) If FMS2 is a Rockwell Collins FMS do this test again with transponders 1 and 2. (f) Engage the ADC 1 and ADC 2 circuit breakers. (18) Simulate 15,025 feet and 200 knots with the pitot-static test set. NOTE: The Vert Rate (Baro) must be checked as the altitude is increasing at 1,200 feet per minute. B. Use the IFR-6000 test set to complete the attached Transponder Test. C. Prepare the airplane for service. (1) Disconnect the pitot-static test set. (2) Move the DC POWER BATT switch to the OFF position. (3) Move the AVIONICS POWER switch to the OFF position. (4) Disconnect external electrical power. (5) Disconnect the Landing Gear Simulator Test Boxes. 6. Record that this service bulletin has been completed. A. Complete a Maintenance Transaction Report. B. Put a copy of the completed Maintenance Transaction Report in the airplane logbook. November 13, 2013 Page 3
