6 The design change effected by this Aircraft Service Change (ASC) has been classified as Minor by the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The design change data contained here-in and effected by this document is approved and accepted by the FAA and EASA under Gulfstream Organization Delegation Authorization Project No. TG The design of this ASC is approved by aircraft type design data for installation on aircraft registered for operation in accordance with applicable regulations of the FAA and EASA. The design of an ASC is configured to a standard ( greenie ) production aircraft. If spare wires, pin connections or locations called out have been used for another modification, the installing agency must ensure the development, documentation and approval of any required deviations. The following instructions, in step-by-step form, are written as a guide to perform this ASC. Compliance with safe maintenance practices as defined in the Aircraft Maintenance Manual, (AMM) and by the FAA and EASA is required. Gulfstream considers this ASC a means to enhance aircraft capabilities to meet individual operator requirements. The modification is not related to any safety or airworthiness condition. Subject: Purpose/Discussion: Description/Man-Hours Required Per Aircraft: Aircraft General (ATA 00) Maximum Takeoff Gross Weight (MTOGW) Increase This aircraft service change increases the Maximum Takeoff Gross Weight (MTOGW) from 73,900 lbs. to 74,600 lbs. Additionally, the Maximum Ramp Weight (MRW) is increased from 74,300 lbs. to 75,000 lbs. This service change will provide increased payload capability up to 700 lbs. This aircraft service change loads a new Options Data CD-ROM and, if required, updated Aircraft Personality Module (APM) Settings CD-ROM. The modification instructions are divided into two sections. Section I applies to new installations. Section II applies to aircraft that have previously incorporated ASC 016. To meet the intent of this revision, operators of aircraft that have previously incorporated ASC 016 should replace Airplane Flight Manual Supplement (AFMS) No. G , dated July 15, 2005 / AFMS No. JAA G , dated April 12, 2006, with the appropriate AFMS as described in Section II. To obtain the AFMS, please contact Gulfstream Technical Publications at GULF (4853). Approximately 4 man-hours will be required for new installations. Revision A Page 1 of 8

7 Approved Engineering Data: The source data for this ASC is: 1159ASC47016 Rev Top Drawing Maximum Takeoff Gross Weight (MTOGW) Increase Prerequisites: Prior to, or at the time this ASC is ordered, operators will be required to supply a configuration download of the Central Maintenance Computer (CMC) and fill out the Aircraft Personality Module (APM) Settings Form. The CMC and APM will be reviewed for current configuration. The CMC report can be stored on the hard drive and then electronically submitted to Gulfstream at asc.software@gulfstream.com. An interactive APM Settings Form is available to authorized users at and must be submitted electronically. A new Options Data CD-ROM part number will be assigned based on an internal review of the CMC download. If required, an updated APM Settings CD- ROM will be assigned based on the APM Settings form. Depending on the results of the review, one or both of the aircraft specific disks will be provided with the ASC kit. The data source used to determine the Options Data CD-ROM part number will remain Gulfstream proprietary information. When the ASC kit is built for the installation of software options, the kit will include: Options Data CD-ROM Authorization Report The Options Data CD-ROM and Authorization Report will be aircraft specific and contain the required data for installation. Allow 3-5 days for the CMC review and up to 21 days for the creation of a new Options Data CD-ROM. MODIFICATION INSTRUCTIONS: CAUTION: PROTECT WIRE BUNDLES, CONNECTORS AND SURROUNDING STRUCTURE DURING ANY MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE FROM SHAVINGS, DEBRIS AND CONTAMINATION. MAINTAIN A PROPERLY CLEANED WORK AREA THROUGHOUT THE PROCEDURE TO ENSURE THE INTEGRITY OF THE AFFECTED COMPONENT / SYSTEM. VISUALLY INSPECT WORK AREA USING ADDITIONAL LIGHT AS NECESSARY TO VERIFY ABSENCE OF ANY DEBRIS PRIOR TO COMPLETION OF PROCEDURE. FAILURE TO COMPLY MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE TO COMPONENTS AND / OR SYSTEMS. A. Aircraft that have not previously incorporated ASC 016, continue to Section I. Aircraft that have previously incorporated ASC 016, proceed to Section II. SECTION I NEW INSTALLATIONS A. Complete and submit the APM Settings Form. An interactive APM Settings Form is available to authorized users at NOTE: A review of the APM Settings will determine if an updated aircraft specific APM CD-ROM is required. B. Prepare aircraft for safe ground maintenance. Refer to G450 Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Chapter 20. C. Apply external electrical power to aircraft. Refer to G450 AMM, Chapter 20. 10 NOTE: Refer to GIVX-GER-9934 PlaneView Software Loading, Verification and Return to Service Procedures. This document is located on the Maintenance Applications disk. D. Perform a configuration download of the Central Maintenance Computer (CMC). Refer to GIVX-GER Send the CMC configuration download to Gulfstream Aerospace at asc.software@gulfstream.com. NOTE: A review of the CMC configuration will determine the new aircraft specific Options Data CD-ROM disk. E. Perform Options CD full load procedure. Refer to GIVX-GER Retain new Options Data CD-ROM. F. If required, perform APM Settings & Rigging full load procedure. Refer to GIVX-GER G. Verify software load configuration. Refer to GIVX-GER H. Remove disk from laptop and store in aircraft. I. Discard previously used version of the Gulfstream Options Data CD-ROM. J. If applicable, discard previously used version of the APM CD-ROM. K. Remove electrical power from aircraft. Refer to G450 AMM, Chapter 20. L. Ensure work area is clean and clear of foreign objects and debris (FOD). M. Record compliance with this ASC in the aircraft s permanent maintenance records and return aircraft to flight status. R. 11 WEIGHT AND BALANCE DATA: The effect of installing this ASC on the aircraft does not alter the aircraft s basic weight and balance; however the aircraft s Weight & Balance Manual must be updated to include the G450 Weight & Balance Manual Supplement for ASC 016. ELECTRICAL LOAD ANALYSIS DATA: The effect of this change on the aircraft s electrical loading is negligible. NOTE: The below kits are associated with Section I only (new installations). To obtain the new AFMS required for Section II (aircraft that have previously incorporated ASC 016), please contact Gulfstream Technical Publications at GULF (4853). Refer to Section II.
