3 1 General This Letter of Agreement details the conditions and requirements agreed by the VATEUD France vacc and VATSIM UK for the transfer of traffic between the French and London FIRs. Upon transfer, IFR aircraft are to conform to ICAO standard cruising levels (or agreed levels if these are different), incorporating the implementation of Reduced Vertical Separation Minima (RVSM), and also to the direction of airways as published in the UK and French AIPs. IFR traffic is limited to airways, as published on the appropriate charts. Aircraft may only be transferred between French FIRs and EGTT off route with prior co-ordination and agreement (at least 5 minutes before the FIR boundary crossing) between the ACCs. If traffic cannot be accepted off route it must be re-routed via the existing airways pattern. France to UK even Flight Levels UK to France odd Flight Levels Aircraft are to be transferred no later than 5nm before the FIR boundary, and earlier than this where stated below. 2 Control Positions The Area sectors used in VATSIM UK operate on a top-down basis. Overlying sectors will assume responsibility for sectors that are not online. Below is a diagram showing how the sectors relevant to this document will operate. Throughout, a sector to the right of the diagram assumes responsibility for those left of it if those sectors are not online. Agreements in this document are written as if all sectors are open. 2.1 London FIR LON_D_CTR LON_S_CTR LON_SC_CTR LON_W_CTR LON_CTR 3
4 2.2 French FIRs France vacc operate three area sectors which border with the London FIR: - LFUP_CTR controls all French airspace above FL245 - LFFF_CTR controls all Paris FIR airspace below FL245, and Paris FIR airspace above FL245 if LFUP is not online - LFRR_CTR controls all Brest FIR airspace below FL245, and Brest FIR airspace above FL245 if LFUP is not online Eurocontrol West (EURW) controls all French airspace above FL245 that is not controlled by another French sector. 3 Delegated Airspace In order to expedite the flow of traffic between FIRs the responsibility for providing ATC services in certain airspace has been delegated. Specific charts follow, but all are available in the UK AIP section ENR (here). 3.1 VATSIM UK to France vacc The responsibility for the following airspace is delegated from VATSIM UK to France vacc: - Southwestern Corner of the London UIR (ENR ) 3.2 France vacc to VATSIM UK The responsibility for the following airspace is delegated from France vacc to VATSIM UK: - La Manche East/West Low (ENR ) - La Manche East High (ENR ) 4
