A standing agreement now stands with the Aerodrome to issue 220degrees as a standard heading unless instructed otherwise by INTS. The departures AIR controller will telephone INTS just before departure to check the release. INTS then must Issue headings to the aircraft to keep it clear of inbound traffic on downwind leg. The aircraft MUST be handed to LON TMA on a heading between 270 and 300 degrees, climbing to 6000ft. LON TMA will climb the aircraft as soon as handed off, but will not turn it from the heading you issued until through MSL+1, or abeam Woodley (WOD) NDB, whichever is soonest. If the aircraft will not be clean in you must jump the outbound by co-ordinating a higher level with LON TMA. They will usually issue FL100.

VFR Departures will depart from C1 on westerly ops and E1 on easterly ops. When 08L/26R in use - RNAV, Visual or SRA approaches to be used see vmats for Northerly runway conditions and HP. Non Standard London TC Release points GWC MAY (direct to MAY and released passing MAY) Centreline (TIMBA 3E) Holding MAY can be used for holding a/c inbound from the FIR, after a missed approach or when required. Minimum holding level 3000ft Maximum holding level 6000ft London TC is responsible for all stacks above FL120.

S/VFR Circuit/Departures North of the field 1500ft QNH Aircraft Remaining in the circuit should squawk 7057 Departure instructions are to be given on stand prior to start. Information to be passed to LC AIR Estimate for IFR inbounds Type of APP, if anything other than ILS, with range check at 10nm Anticipated delay to departing aircraft. Information on SVFR/VFR landing or transiting. Missed approach instructions Radar released, together with departure instructions.

If TC cannot release the aircraft but Thames can, Thames may issue a release subject TC. If there is IFR traffic inbound to Biggin within 10 nm, Thames will issue a release subject *callsign of inbound a/c+. Biggin will release the departure if the controller is visual with the inbound aircraft and are able to provide reduced separation in the vicinity of the aerodrome. When releasing an airways departure, Thames Radar is to specify the altitude; either 2400ft to remain outside CAS or 3000ft.

Thames Radar is responsible for passing the estimate for the inbound aircraft and transferring it to Rochester Information once clear of controlled airspace. Airways departures from Rochester will fly the appropriate Standard Departure Route. Southend EGMC TA 6000ft SEE LONDON CITY FOR ARRIVAL ROUTING Information gathered by Callum Presley Inbound Procedures Aircraft inbound to Southend via DET will be transferred by London TC S in accordance with the silent handover condition the same as City, Biggin and Rochester arrivals. Thames Radar is responsible for passing the identification of the inbound and obtaining an acceptance level at the SND NDB from Southend Approach/Radar. Example:- Inbound [Callsign], Estimate (for Southend), Position The Southend controller will respond with: [Callsign] Identified and accepted, Level and Southend QNH, Contact frequency Thames Radar will then inform the pilot [Callsign] Southend will accept you at altitude QNH, cleared to leave controlled airspace by descent. Upon leaving controlled airspace [Callsign] my radar service terminates, contact Southend on frequency
