OVERVIEW Red Atlas is an airport management system for general aviation airfields. It provides optimal integration between air traffic control, ground operations and accounts, streamlining the billing process and reducing data entry. It is designed to make day-to-day airport administrative tasks more efficient, reducing staff workload, whilst offering enhanced reporting tools and accounting flexibility. Red Atlas facilitates real-time planning, monitoring and tracking of aircraft movements and provides full accounting functionality. It offers the option of a live arrivals/departures board module, ensuring customers are fully up-to-date. Red Atlas is fully operational in Blackbushe Airport, Brighton City Airport, Goodwood Aerodrome and Redhill Aerodrome. FUNCTIONS Background Reds Atlas serves the needs of, and integrates, the different aviation-related departments within an airport. It has four main functions: 1. Air Traffic Control (ATC) 2. Operations 3. Accounts 4. Reporting Each function defines an associated user role. Each role provides nominated users with a unique log-in name and password. Access permissions can be set locally according to the functions the user requires access to. 3
ATC ATC users can book and log aircraft landings and take-offs, taking in to account factors such as whether the flight is a circuit (staying in close proximity of the airport), local (returning back to the airport) or away (due to land at another destination). Users can record the type of flight, number of passengers, associated call-sign and so forth, as well as entering information about aircraft that have not visited the airport before. Users can check information on the aircraft such as type, weight, operator, owner details and date of Certificate of Airworthiness against the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) G-INFO database. All inbound aircraft can be entered into the system according to aircraft registration or call-sign, and if the aircraft is already known (i.e. it has landed at the airport before) it will display previous information such as aircraft type, number of engines and last known movement. ATC users can check and accept this information or modify it if required. Alternatively, if the aircraft is not on the system already, ATC users can enter the required details, which can be confirmed upon landing. Helicopters are displayed as a different colour to fixed-wing aircraft, and late aircraft can be easily identified. GENERAL FEATURES ATC FEATURES Supports multiple runways Optional ATC sign-in Flight departures credit warning Automatic prompting for out-of-hours charges Unlimited preset pilot names 12 preset aircraft for frequent use Flight-strip printing Optional no charge with associated reason Student pilot indication User-defined airfield list (with prioritization) Automatic book-in/book-out for returning/departing flights (reduces data entry) Allocated parking slots with flexible charging User-definable exercises, including T&G, navigation approach and goarounds 4
Road movements recording Touch screen aware Advanced booking capability Multiple bookings for single aircraft Slot bookings Scheduled flights FLIGHT ARRIVALS/DEPARTURES OPTION Windows flight arrivals/departure board Times shown as local or UTC Multi-page display Can display aircraft registration, call sign, or both Website feed available Operations The Operations user role is intended for use by airport staff who are principally involved in dealing with airfield ground operations. This would typically be the sale of aviation fuel and oil, and payment processing including aircraft landings and parking. The system maintains stock levels for fuel and oil which can be stored in multiple locations/fuel tanks. The system can also maintain records of manual meter readings or dips and can process fuel adjustments resulting from daily fuel samples and testing. OPERATIONS FEATURES Multiple fuel types Multiple fuel locations Fuel stock control Link aircraft type to fuel type Payment processing Fuel docket number recording 5
Accounts From handling inbound aircraft in ATC and recording aircraft movements, to the sale of aviation fuel and other landing services, Red Atlas will meet all your airport s administrative requirements. Charges for different services such as landing, hangar-age, parking and fuel can all be specified within Red Atlas, which can then be applied to customer accounts when using these services. Red Atlas invoices can be issued for account-based customers and cash bills, as well as for non-aviation related charges such as office rent, water, electricity and the hire of equipment or services such as conference rooms. Red Atlas Accounts users can view existing charges against accounts throughout the month searching by account number, name, aircraft registration or call-sign and can modify account details and charge rates. Charges for both home-based accounts, which you may want to invoice monthly, and for visiting aircraft, who will need to pay for services before they depart, can all be recorded within Red Atlas. Red Atlas Accounts can interface with other accounting systems such as Sage Line 50, should you wish to maintain your current accounting system. Charging Structure Red Atlas has flexibility to allow the creation of a dynamic charging structure that reflects the way you want to manage your airport. All prices can vary based on a number of criteria from either the related aircraft - such as aircraft weight and wing type - or the customer/account. Typically this allows differing pricing structures for home based aircraft verses visiting aircraft, and differential pricing based on aircraft weight. It also allows preferential pricing to be granted to high volume customers such as flying schools or charter companies. This flexible pricing structure applies to all aspects of the airfield; from landings and aircraft exercises, parking or hangar-age, through to fuel and oil pricing. There are a number of facilities within the system to allow for promotional pricing, such as discounted landing fees when uplifting fuel, to reduced price landings during specific hours of the day. This helps increase airport usage during quieter periods. The system has the capabilities to extend variable pricing to include new environmentally friendly criteria such as hush-kits or noise reducing propellers. 6
ACCOUNTS FEATURES DYNAMIC AND FLEXIBLE PRICING STRUCTURES Groups of customers Customer-specific pricing PRICING BY AIRCRAFT CHARACTERISTIC E.g. Helicopter vs fixed wing Time-of-the-day discounts Discounted landing on fuel uplift INVOICING Ad-hoc and scheduled Use as a billing engine or full accounts (full ledger functionality) Statements or credit notes Aged debtors Credit-suspension Reporting The Red Atlas Reporting function features powerful reporting tools to enable revenue, aircraft movements, airport activity and sales figures to easily be analyzed. Reports can be viewed within Red Atlas and printed to PDF (for saving) or to paper (if a hard-copy is required), or alternatively the reports can also be exported to , Microsoft Word, Excel or other applications. These features allow airport and operations managers to clearly identify factors such as sales trends and busy times of the day/week/year, which enable informed decisions to be made. For example, if when using the Red Atlas Reporting function it can be seen that a lot of aircraft movements occur between and increasing the workload on briefing room, fire crew and air traffic control staff - a discount could be offered as an incentive for aircraft to land between 9.00 and This would help deploy resource more evenly and affectively throughout the day, reducing underutilization in quiet periods and avoiding unwanted strain during busy periods. 7
Red Atlas Reporting users can view customer account details, transactions, and aircraft/call-signs registered against accounts, as well as viewing receipts of payment taken by visiting aircraft and for other goods such as fuel and oil. REPORTING FEATURES Integrated reporting tools Open data structure (facilitates internal report creation) Selection on pre-defined custom reports on request. Example reports include: o Runway usage o Income by activity o Fuel sales by aircraft type o CAA stats o Out of hours movements o Hourly income breakdown CONSULTING Nevalee Business Solutions offer a range of consulting services to ensure you can leverage all the benefits Red Atlas has to offer. We provide a full and comprehensive data migration service from your existing system, ensuring a seamless transition to Red Atlas. We can also enable historic reporting upon completion of data migration, if you so choose. Red Atlas will interface with your accounts package of choice. It utilizes Visma Business management software, underpinning the full functionality Red Atlas provides.
