Vivejar was born out of the pursuit of Two Things
Faustina, Vivejar Community hostess Before, the income only came from artwork, family working in other states and local agriculture, which is very little I came here with the expectation of finding simplicity, carrying less weight. I wanted to learn how to live lighter in my daily life in São Paulo. But what I found taught me so much more than that! Helena, Vivejar Tourist
On one hand Income generation is concentrated in the centers On the other Lack of options for income generation The community is losing its cultural heritage Having vs Being creates distance between values and our human essence Tourists wish to experience new places They want to leave a positive impact
A Solution Experiences for Tourists led by the community
A Solution TRADITIONAL Communities SUSTAINABLE Tours Experiences for Tourists led by the community POSITIVE Impact EXCHANGE of Experiences
Meaningful Connections Vivejar believes that a trip is so much more than just an opportunity to get to know a different place. It is an opportunity to connect tourists and a community in a profound way that will allow them to exchange experiences. While the tourist can learn more about the local people and their way of life, about their unique and strong traditions, the community also have the possibility to learn the same from the visitors. This creates empathy, understanding and generates learning and tolerance. And we would like to say that in the long run, also a better world!
For Faustina For Helena $ from Accommodation $ from providing Meals $$ from sold Artwork Cultural Preservation Experience Re-connection Exchange Culture & Learnings Increased Self-esteem Transformation
Duas Buscas For the World + EMPATHY
Our Values
Co-creation The first value of Vivejar is cocreation. In all our tours, the process is the same: we never enter a community with a finished plan. We create together, all participants. The community suggests what they want to show, and we contribute with our expertise to shape the tour. Creating it in a way that promotes the connections between the community members and the tourists is a fundamental pillar in this work.
Positive Social Impact The second value in our work is Positive Impact. We take great measures to decrease possible negative outcomes in order to maximize our positive ones. We are committed to measuring and sharing our results! We want tourism to be an important tool for the development and preservation of the environment and the cultural heritage of Brazil.
A Different kind of Experience We cherish deep and meaningful connections. Therefore we always create our community tours in an authentic way. With us you can expect far more than just the average "city tour". Traveling with Vivejar means living in the community, eating the typical foods and learning about the activities that identifies the place. We are sure that our travelers will leave the community with far more than just a new experience, but also with several new friends.
Women s empowerment After many years of working with local development, we know that investing in women means investing in the development of a society as a whole! Our priority is to make tourism an instrument of empowerment through income generation, entrepreneurship, increased selfesteem and especially, the opportunity of CHOICE.

They will live together with host families in the community who are prepared to ensure the comfort of the tourist. 46 Bororé Island and a different São Paulo
The Tour It is often said that São Paulo is where things happen, and yes, this is true. Even in places considered "difficult", there are people taking action to change their reality and the environment. This is the case of the neighborhood of Grajaú and the Island of Bororé, districts of the extreme south of São Paulo, divided by the Billings Dam. Where nature, agriculture, the periphery, art, sustainability, graffiti and social innovation meet. Our tour proposes a dive into this world of local initiatives. A different kind of São Paulo awaits you.
How is the experience for the Tourist? In this tour, the tourist will have the opportunity to experience another São Paulo. Welcomed with a walk in the Grajaú neighborhood, we will get to know the local challenges through appreciative lenses that are changing this reality. We will cross the dam towards the island of Bororé, leaving urban São Paulo to experience another side that is rural, organic, biodynamic, social, cultural, collective, active, Ecoativa!

Faustina, Vivejar Community hostess "In addition to income, we get to have a new experiences, know other people. Our income is indirectly for everyone because when we ask a person to bake a cookie and they get paid, the income circulates right? Sometimes we don t have everything, so we need to go to the neighbor, in that way it is good for them too! " It's good to disconnect, change your environment. And I loved it! Especially the people, I value what I have, but I've never met women like that!" "They're amazing! They taught us everything!
