3 Message from the Founding President Canada China Commercial Association (CCCA) was established in 2009 for individuals and businesses who were interested in finding business opportunities between Canada and China. Five years have passed, CCCA has grown steadily and become one of the influential Chinese business associations in Calgary. This year marks a major milestone for CCCA our first five year anniversary. In the past five years, CCCA is very active in local business and Chinese Communities by hosting numerous events throughout the year, including business seminars, networking events and forums. During the 2012 Global Petroleum show, CCCA successfully organized and hosted the "Alberta Energy Energy Outlook Forum 2012" with more than 100 participants from both Canada and China. The success of the forum greatly encouraged us to bring the momentum to a higher level. In 2013, the "2013 Canada-China Trade and Investment Forum" brought together over 100 investors and professionals in the energy, academic and finance sectors as well as representatives from government agents. As the founding president, I sincerely thank our board, our members and volunteers. It is only with your dedication and support that we are able to build a solid foundation and achieve the fruitful results today. I would also like to thank our sponsors and affiliations, who have supported us in the past five years and have witnessed our growth. I am sure with our new board, bigger member base and more affiliated organizations, CCCA will continue to provide our members with vital support and opportunities to build and grow their businesses, and the future five years will mark another successful milestone for CCCA. Sincerely yours, Julie Zheng The Founding President On behalf of all of its members, the board of Canada China Commercial Association (CCCA) would like to present CCCA's history and its achievements over the past years. Message from the Board CCCA was registered Alberta in 2009 as a nonprofit organization with a mandate to assist its members from both Canada and China to build and develop their businesses. Its main purpose is to be the bridge between the two countries and to help its members to exchange information, explore new opportunities and become more competitive. CCCA believes that resourcesharing and cooperation is a win-win strategy and that companies with complementary advantages will be more successful by working together. As a member based organization, CCCA has grown its membership base from a few affiliated people to individuals and businesses in both Canada and China and across different sectors and industries. Since its inception, CCCA has organized numerous seminars and workshops, all of which were well received. Participants of these events ranged from local small businesses to international corporations, from financial professions to engineers and from businesses in Canada to delegations from China. During 2012 Global Petroleum Show in Calgary, CCCA successfully hosted "Alberta Energy Outlook Forum 2012" with more than 100 participants. Built on the success of the 2012 forum, in June 2013, CCCA hosted the "2013 Canada-China Trade and Investment Forum" (CCTIF 2013), which included speakers from both Canadian and Chinese government officials, business leaders, post-secondary educators and representatives from Chinese sovereign fund. As the board of CCCA, we feel it is our privilege to serve a dynamic organization like CCCA. We would like to encourage you to get involved with the organization by signing up as a member. Hosted Finance and Investment Seminar YEAR OF 2010 CCCA organized and hosted 16 events in 2010 including seminars, workshops and volunteer activities. A few highlights are: Co-organized the Chinese New Year Celebration with The Bay Organized a business delegation from China to attend the 2010 Global Petroleum Show Participated in the Calgary China Town's 100-Year Birthday Celebration Hosted "How to Be an Entrepreneur in Canada" Seminar Hosted "Real Estate Investment and Development" Workshop. YEAR OF 2011 CCCA organized and hosted over 20 events in A few highlights are: Participated in organizing of 2011 Chinese New Year Celebration Concert Co-organized the Chinese New Year Celebration with The Bay Established Global Petroleum Show committee and organized business corporations from China to attend the show Collaborated with Alberta Innovates Energy and Environment Solution, CCCA organized a seminar to discuss the potential cooperation between Chinese and Canadian energy industries Signed a memorandum with Dongying municipal government, Shandong Province, China regarding promoting the city of Dongying to highly-qualified Chinese professionals in Canada Hosted "Corporate Share Structure and Tax Advantage" Seminar Participate in the conference hosted by The Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Shandong Provincial People's Government Participate in the Global Petroleum Show in Dongying, China. Signed a memorandum with The Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Shandong Provincial People's Government to be their affiliation in Calgary to attract highly qualified professionals to work in Shandong Province. YEAR OF 2012 CCCA organized and hosted 19 activities in A few highlights are: Hosted Business Tax Seminar Established Global Petroleum Show committee and organized the business corporations from China to attend the show Successfully hosted "Alberta Energy Outlook Forum 2012" with over 100 participants Invited by the organizer, an eight-member delegation from Canada organized by CCCA attended the International Petroleum & Petrochemical Technology and Equipment Exhibition in Dongying, China Key person from CCCA attended the Sixth Cooperation and Exchange Convention of Overseas Chinese Enterprises. The convention was hosted by The Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of The State Council and The Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Shandong Provincial People's Government Key person from CCCA attended Overseas Chinese Association Forum and other activities hosted by The Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Shanghai, China CCCA led a group of seven executives from Calgary petroleum industry to Beijing, Yantai, Dongying and Shanghai to look for investment and joint-venture opportunities with Chinese petroleum equipment manufactures and other businesses. The trip was well received by The Overseas Chinese Affairs Office in respective cities. YEAR OF 2013 CCCA organized and hosted 23 events in A few highlights are: Global Petroleum Show committee of CCCA organized businesses from China to attend the show Successfully hosted the 2013 Canada-China Trade and Investment Forum (CCTIF 2013) with over 100 attendees Successfully hosted Evening Business Seminar with key speakers from Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Calgary, KPMG and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Canada).
