As one of the only 5 WACS endorsed international culinary competitions, a record high of over 800 top chefs entered HKICC this year, namely Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Korea, Macao, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and UK. With such a big scale, over 100 judges were invited to be in the judging panel, 35 of whom have been top judges from around the globe. Having Hongkong Electric Co. Ltd as the Exclusive Sponsor and Hospitality Industry Training and Development Centre as the Supporting Organisation providing with the electric equipment, the competition also offered contestants to experience the cost effective and efficiency benefits of electric equipment. 6 Wine HOFEX Strategically located at Hall 3B where next to some wine country pavilions like Spain, Italy, Australia, USA and Cyprus in Hall 3C E, various wine exhibitors gathered to take buyers through around the world wine journey. At Hong Kong International Wine Challenge, a complemented event of the Wine Square, 8 bottles of fine wines were being crowned with the Best of Show Award from a selection of 258 entries which were professionally judged and tasted by the Co organiser Hong Kong Sommelier Association. Winning wines were delicately displayed throughout the show days of HOFEX and shared with trade buyers at Wine Forum on 9 May. HOFEX Hospitality IT Catered to the growing demand in hospitality technology, the 3rd Asian Hospitality Technology Education Conference (AHTEC) held at HOFEX together with its specialised exhibition located at Hall 1E. Combined with the signature event Regional Hotel General Managers Forum, the Conference was being sponsored by IBM and attached a total of 150 Hotel GMs, CIOs and CTOs who have gained a deep insight into the latest hospitality technologies and upcoming challenges. 5

Bean2Cup Specialty Coffee Bean2Cup @ HOFEX, the specialty coffee sector located in Hall 5, was a great success and attracted a high number of visitors.

Co hosted by Danes Gourmet Coffee, Grand Barista Championship never lost its crowd.

Renowned coffee companies such as illy, Pacific Coffee, Rabbithole Coffee, Tsit Wing and etc., together exhibited a wide selection of advanced coffee machines and premium coffee beans. Co hosted by Danes Gourmet Coffee, Grand Barista Championship never lost its crowd. After rounds of fierce competitions, the Championship went to Lai King Sum, Rachel from McCafe, which indicated that fast food chains can also brew supreme coffee as professionally as traditional cafés do.
