3 Event Information Dates: February 6, 2012 thru February 26, 2012 Destination: Van, Turkey Support Hub: WestWind Airlines: Boston, MA Vortex Airlines: Dublin, IE Welcome pilots! EastWind IV has been delayed due to awaiting information from the Turkish Government. However, we have received our official orders from the top brass here at WestWind. According to Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency of Turkey, the Turkish government is still in desperate need of supplies. WestWind Virtual Airlines has teamed up with Vortex Virtual Airlines to immediately deliver the much needed supplies to help the Van region recover from the devastating earthquakes they sustained in October and November of We are to quickly deliver the following as soon as possible: construction equipment and vehicles including 146 ambulances, 143 generators, 77 projectors, 95 portable toilets, 42,711 tents, 54 collective shelter tent, 69 general purpose tents, 65 prefabricated houses, 2,300 Mevlana houses, 160,360 blankets, 1,179 quilts, 37 mobile kitchens, 3,051 kitchen sets, 6,899 catalytic stoves, 5,792 sleeping bags, and 1 mobile kitchen. Stage 1: Feeder flights deliver supplies to a primary North American Hub (Boston, KBOS) Stage 2: Trans Atlantic flights transport the supplies collected at Boston (KBOS) to the primary European Staging Hub (Dublin, EIDW) Stage 3: Feeder flights deliver supplies from European cities to the Staging Hub (Dublin, EIDW) Stage 4: Inter Continental flights transport all the collected supplies from Dublin (EIDW) to Van, Turkey (LTCI) Stage 5: Feeder flights from Van, Turkey (LTCI) deliver the supplies throughout the area
4 Step 5: And above all have fun! All EastWind IV flights can be flown either online or offline, however it is much more fun to fly with others! We do ask that if you fly any leg of an Operation Eastwind event you do it in the specified time period and when you log your flight make sure you select "Operation EastWind IV" under Airline Event.
5 Airport Information Please note: Airport diagrams for all airports are available for download from the Operation EastWind IV web page. Stage 1: Feeder flights to be flown into Boston from: Denver (KDEN), Chicago O'Hare (KORD), Columbus, OH (KLCK), Toronto Pearson (CYYZ), Miami (KMIA), Atlanta (KATL), Washington Dulles (KIAD), Bangor, ME (KBGR), Cincinnati (KCVG) and New York Kennedy (KJFK) Stage 2: Trans Atlantic cargo delivery flights from Boston to Dublin (EIDW). This stage may either be flown KBOS EIDW direct or through CFB Goose Bay (KBOS CYYR EIDW) to pick up additional cargo being assembled by the Royal Canadian Airforce for disaster relief. Stage 3: Feeder flights to be flown into Dublin from: London Heathrow (EGLL), Frankfurt (EDDF), Amsterdam (EHAM), Athens (LGAV), Madrid (LEMD), Paris CDG (LFPG), Vienna (LOWW), Stockholm Arlanda (ESSA), Brussels (EBBR) and Moscow Shermetyevo (UUEE) Stage 4: Inter Continental flights transport all the collected supplies from Dublin (EIDW) to Van, Turkey (LTCI) Stage 5: Feeder flights to be flown from Van, Turkey (LTCI) to: Trabzon (LTCG), Kars (LTCF), Erzurum (LTCE), Erzincan (LTCD), Elazig (LTCA), Mus (LTCK), Diyarbakir (LTCC), Batman (LTCJ) and Siirt (LTCL)
