2 Welcome to Blue Riband Holidays Blue Riband Holidays were founded nearly 60 years ago. We still offer a good selection of quality accommodation at very competitive prices. We have a choice of locations in the holiday villages of Hemsby, Scratby and Caister, close to, or within easy reach of some of the best sandy beaches in the country. We like to think we have something to suit everyone: Quietly situated Premier Bungalows some with their own private gardens, brochure pages 6, 7, 8, 9 10, 11, 12, 13 & 14. Quality chalet holiday homes on a choice of popular parks, some with on-site facilities others quiet and unspoilt, pages 3, 4 & 5. Bed linen included in the cost of your holiday All accommodation supplied with a duvet cover, bottom sheet and pillow cases for each bed being used (up to number of beds in a bungalow) (up to four persons in a two bedroom chalet or 5 persons in three bedroom). Smoking: The majority of our customers are non-smokers and find the odour left, particularly by a heavy smoker, to be a problem. We therefore respectfully ask that, if you do smoke, you do so outside your holiday home. Most of our regular customers already do this and for this reason we have classified all our accommodation as non-smoking. Mobility Scooters are not permitted inside the accommodation because of the damage caused to UPVC thresholds. You may keep your mobility scooter outside, however, you are responsible for the safekeeping of the scooter. 3 Sea-Dell Holiday Park in Hemsby Sea-Dell Holiday Park s appeal is obvious the moment you enter the park. The detached holiday homes are generously spaced with large well cared for grassed areas with lots of trees to complete the scene. The park is very safe for children and there is ample space to walk your dog. Your dog is welcome at Sea-Dell, but please keep him on a lead at all times while walking on the park. Sea-Dell Holiday Homes are furnished and equipped to very high standards. Accommodation: Comfortable lounge with three piece suite, TV and DVD player, dining suite, coffee table and electric heater. Shower-room with electric shower, washbasin and WC. A few have a bath and no shower. 4 Belle Aire Holiday Park in Hemsby Belle Aire Park is situated on Beach Road, Hemsby, only a very short distance from Hemsby s Golden Sands and all the attractions of Beach Road. We have two types of holiday home, the Bure (2 bedroom) and the Wensum (3 bedroom), fully double glazed, and are of a very high standard with modern fitted kitchens, three piece suites and high quality décor for extra comfort. Star Features Duvet cover, sheets & pillow cases included in the cost of your holiday. Most with 32 LCD TV with Free-to-Air satellite receiver and a DVD player. Fully double glazed, fitted carpets, three piece suite. Close to beach and amenities. Electricity is supplied through a card meter which takes 1, 5 or 10 cards. Cards can be purchased from our office at Parklands also from Club Belle on the park. Bure, 2 bedroom, sleeping 4 (A terms) Wensum, 3 bedroom, sleeping 5 (D terms) The Bure and Wensum holiday homes, as featured in the pictures, offer superb quality and value for money. The Bure is for up to four persons only, however a small folding bed for a child (up to 10 years old) can be provided to accommodate a 5th person at a cost of 10 per week. (you will need to hire or bring bed linen with you for the extra bed). The Wensum with three bedrooms is larger and for up to five persons only. Both types have a comfortable lounge with three piece suite, dining suite, coffee table and TV and DVD player. Modern shower room with wash basin and toilet, most now have fitted shower cubicles. Modern kitchen with electric cooker, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, upright vacuum cleaner and iron with ironing board, Wensum Nos. 15 and 122 have a fridge/freezer. 5 Belle Aire Holiday Park in Hemsby Club Belle (free membership) Cabaret Acts Cash Bingo Disco & Karaoke Children s Adventure Playground The many attractions of Hemsby-on-Sea Hemsby is situated just six miles north of Great Yarmouth and is today one of the most popular holiday locations on the east coast. On Beach Road close to the Belle Aire Park you have many attractions: Takeaways, restaurants, shops, amusements, prize bingo, children s minifunfair, Sunday and Tuesday markets, the Lacon Arms P. H. Only a short walk away on St Thomas Road you will find the very popular Sea-Dell clubhouse which has some entertainment and is free to use. On Beach Road you ll find Mr B s Leisure Bar with three full size snooker tables, pool tables and large satellite TV and children s soft play area. There is a swimming pool within easy walking distance of Belle Aire situated a little further down Beach Road on the left which is available at reasonable charges per session. Great Yarmouth is only six miles, a comfortable 10 minutes in the car or buses run regularly. Live shows and entertainment, Yarmouth racecourse, Greyhound and Stock-car racing, Pleasure Beach with white knuckle rides for teenagers and the popular Joyland for younger children. Norwich is only 20 miles, a fine shopping centre and many historical buildings. The Norfolk Broads are within easy reach, day boats can be hired by the hour, half day or full day, plus many guided tours are offered. (leaflets on broads tours are available in our reception). CLUB BELLE Club Belle offers a variety of Entertainment for all the family. Take your seat early for cash bingo. Cabaret nights, theme nights, Miss Club Belle etc. Great value meals. 6 Seafront Bungalows at Caister-on-Sea Quietly situated in East End Close, off Caistersands Avenue. Very popular - please book early! These two bungalows are very much in demand because of their wonderful position. The large rear gardens are fully enclosed with a gate making them safe for children and pets. The gardens are below the promenade - accessible by steps - and make an ideal sheltered suntrap. Access to the beach is by the tarmac promenade. Close by is a small slope down to the beach. There is also access by steps which have handrails. An ideal location for Senior Citizens. Wheelchair users can enter the promenade at the beach end of Second Avenue (see location plan). Dog lovers can enjoy miles of walks in both directions. Sea-fishing is popular here. Bus service nearby with regular service to and from Great Yarmouth. 8 Parkands Holiday Centre Hemsby Village The miniature railway - free to all our guests - is a popular Parklands attraction. Sunday is steam day, with train running from around 11am to approx 3pm. On Thursday mornings between 10am and 11am and mainly during school holiday periods on Tuesday morning also from 10am to 11am, other times also subject to demand, you can hop aboard the lollypop express, this is usually our Blue Riband electric train, although you might also find a steam train running on one of these days too. FREE Wi-Fi Barbecue evening - We have a weekly barbecue in school holiday periods during the Summer months (weather permitting) usually on a Tuesday evening. We cook while you relax and make new friends in our picnic area. No need to worry about the youngsters as they enjoy the superb children s play area plus train rides. Full details from Parklands reception. We usually have a train running during our Bar BQ evening. Parklands is a unique family run park, you won t find accommodation of this quality coupled with our facilities anywhere, real value for money. Blue Sandy 3 bedroom, sleeping 6 (H terms) This bungalow is in a very sheltered position facing South with patio complete with table and chairs (see picture left). The rear garden is completely fenced with access from the kitchen door, safe for children and your dog. Although adjoining Parklands access is from North Road. Ample turning space for your car and a garage to use. Accommodation Large lounge with satellite TV and DVD player. Dining room, fully equipped kitchen with double doors to dining room, electric cooker, fridge/ freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, iron & ironing board, upright vacuum cleaner, hot water by immersion heater. You can fish from the riverbanks, several fishing lakes Golden Pond Hickling, Holly Farm Acle, Martham Pits, to mention but a few there are many more. Beach fishing is also very popular.
