3 TO BE READ BY: TRAIN COMPANY RETAIL STAFF ON-TRAIN STAFF * TRAVEL AGENTS 1 London Boroughs Concessionary Fares Scheme freedom pass The current issue of Elderly, Disabled and Blind Person s freedom pass Oyster cards expire on 31 March Eligible residents are now able to re-validate their freedom pass for a further two years, i.e. cards will be visibly re-dated to expire on 31 March 2008 by affixing a pre-printed adhesive strip. Elderly persons freedom pass holders can re-validate their pass at their local Post Office, unless they live in the boroughs Barking & Dagenham, Bromley, Havering or Wandsworth, in which case they must apply to their local borough council offices. Disabled persons freedom pass holders will need to contact their local borough council about re-validating their pass. Although holders are being asked to renew their passes before 31 March, there will be a period of grace between 1 April and 31 May during which existing passes may still be renewed, and pass holders should be reminded to do so. Any freedom pass with an expiry date of 31 March 2006 that is presented for travel after 31 May should be withdrawn. There are no changes to the scope of the scheme or time restrictions on participating train operating company services. Insofar as travel on National Rail services is concerned, you are reminded that: All freedom passes are valid on National Rail services wholly within the London Fare Zones area from 0930 Monday to Friday and at any time at weekends and public holidays They are also valid beyond the area for travel to Dartford, Swanley and stations Rickmansworth to Amersham inclusive. On designated inter-available routes, Elderly Persons passes are valid from 0900 Monday to Friday, and Disabled Persons passes are valid at any time Full details of the scheme are published in Retail Manual Part One, Section C. Railcard discounts are available to holders of Young Persons, Senior, Family, Disabled Persons Railcards and in addition to this we now also accept the HM Forces, Network Railcard and Gold Card. Normal Railcard discounts and conditions apply. Staff Travel Cards at appropriate Privilege rates are also accepted. (Through fares are also available in the reverse direction) Timetabled journey 15 minutes (Free transfer to and from Terminal 4 8 minutes) Amendments to Child Fares Add-on amounts The Child fares below replace those quoted on page A5 in RailLinks manual 92. Please ignore what is shown in the RailLinks manual and use these fares instead. For GWL and GWR fares only. The cross-london marker MUST NOT be shown on travel tickets. 6 TO BE READ BY: TRAIN COMPANY RETAIL STAFF ON-TRAIN STAFF TRAVEL AGENTS 4 Product and fares information Heathrow Express and First Great Western Link jointly launched a new stopping service in June 2005 between London Paddington and Heathrow Terminals 1,2,3, calling at Ealing Broadway, West Ealing, Hanwell, Southall and Hayes & Harlington. The service conveys Standard Class accommodation only. (A free transfer between Heathrow Terminals 1,2,3 and Terminal 4 is offered by Heathrow Express). FARES Through fares to Heathrow Connect have been set up as follows: from London Terminals (for London Paddington), route Not Heathrow Express; on all journeys not passing via London (e.g. from Maidenhead, Reading, Oxford, Swindon, Bristol, etc). For all other journeys through fares may be issued by adding the amounts shown below to the fare to Hayes & Harlington.Alternatively, you can issue a ticket as normal to Hayes & Harlington, and a separate ticket between Hayes & Harlington and Heathrow Connect. Add-on amounts Adult Single 6.00, Child Single 3.00 Adult Return 12.00, Child Return 6.00 Fares may also be issued for the reverse direction. Please note that for the correct fares to come up in Fares, Enquiry and Ticket Issuing systems, the destination must be entered as HEATHROW CONNECT (H987). VALIDITY OF LONDON TRAVELCARDS Travelcards are NOT valid between Hayes & Harlington and Heathrow. Boundary Zone extension fares are available (see NFM Section K.3). Note that holders of All Zone Travelcards need to be issued with a ticket from BOUNDARY ZONE 5. DISCOUNTS Normal Child, Railcard, and Privilege discounts apply. REFUNDS Normal arrangements apply.
