ATOC would like to thank Atos Origin (in particular, the very good work put in by the Reading team of Jackie Shastri, John Bennett, Chris Miller and Terry Simms) and Hobbs the Printers for providing the service for many years. Until you receive further information, please send any Newsrail Express and Retail Manual Part Two/Rail Directory for Travel Agents items to: Tony Ewers ATOC anthony.ewers@atoc.org Fax ATOC will continue to edit Newsrail Express, collate input and proof the final publication. ATOC will also continue its overall editorial role for the Retail Manuals, Rail Directory for Travel Agents and Ticket Examiners Handbook. The process of contributing information will change once all TOCs have been trained in the new service which will enable you to electronically insert Newsrail Express items for publication via a Fares and Retail Publications website. The current pricing structure for contributing information will continue and be reviewed once the final electronic procedure has been running for several months. ATOC (through Rail Settlement Plan) are making arrangements for the re-charging mechanism used for National Fares Manuals to be put into place and Purchase Order facilities for external bodies. 5 TO BE READ BY: TRAIN COMPANY RETAIL STAFF U ON-TRAIN STAFF TRAVEL AGENTS U 3 NEW RAILCARD LEAFLETS & POSTERS WINTER 2005 To coincide with the introduction of the new Winter timetable, Railcard Marketing has updated the station posters and leaflets for the Young Persons, Family and Senior Railcards for the Winter 2005 period. Examples of the new posters and leaflets for the Young Persons, Family and Senior Railcards which you should by now have received are shown below. They should be the only versions of these three Railcard products on display from 25 September Leaflets YP05B Young Persons Railcard Leaflet FR05B Family Railcard Leaflet SN05B Senior Railcard Leaflet Posters YP05B/P Young Persons Railcard Poster FR05B/P Family Railcard Poster 5 SN05B/P Senior Railcard Poster
6 Keeping Customers Informed: In order that the most up to date information is available to customers, please ensure that you display only the current versions of Railcard posters and leaflets. Earlier versions of posters and leaflets that are now out of date should be destroyed. Return of Completed Railcard Application forms: 1. Stations and other TOC locations. Please ensure application forms are fully and clearly completed and returned at least every 4 weeks to: Settlements Team, ATOS Origin, PO BOX 5332, Derby DE24 8UP. 2. Travel Agents Please ensure application forms are fully and clearly completed and returned at least every 4 weeks to: Travel Trade Service, PO BOX 177, Stevenage SG1 2YW. Leaflet & Booklet Supplies: If the quantity of any or all of the Railcard material supplied needs to be adjusted or the delivery address revised in any way, then please contact ATOC Marketing either by fax , or in writing to:- Dept. 05B, ATOC Marketing, 40 Bernard Street, London WC1N 1BY, ensuring that your full postal address is given together with your NLC or agency code. Please give details of your preferred initial supply of each Railcard leaflet/booklet (rounded up to the nearest 50) for both the Summer (May/June to September) and Winter (September to May/June) periods of the year. You may, of course, advise us of any revisions to these quantities at any time. 8 TO BE READ BY: TRAIN COMPANY RETAIL STAFF ON-TRAIN STAFF TRAVEL AGENTS U U 6 THAMESLINK NEWS Thameslink Half Past Ten Promotion Between 25 September 2005 and 31 March 2006, Thameslink will be running a special promotion, the objective being to generate more leisure travel. Leaflets will be distributed to potential customers, either by direct mail or by demonstration teams in shopping centres. The leaflets will include a voucher offering travel at half the normal Cheap Day Return fare to two people travelling together, provided that they start their journey after 1000 and travel to any station served by Thameslink trains. To take advantage of this offer, customers will complete the required information on the voucher and hand it in at one of the following ticket offices: Bedford, Flitwick, Harlington, Leagrave, Luton, Luton Airport Parkway, Harpenden, St Albans, Radlett, Elstree & Borehamwood, Mill Hill Broadway, Hendon, Cricklewood, West Hampstead Thameslink. Individual tickets will then be issued at half the normal Cheap Day Return fare. Thameslink FlyAway tickets to Gatwick Airport and Luton Airport Parkway Fixed fare of for four people Full details of the outstanding value FlyAway tickets were shown in Item 6 of Newsrail Express 289. Please note that FlyAway may also be sold by selected Tourist Information Centres, where the date on the ticket is hand-stamped.
