Situations for the last 10hrs are normal with crews engaging in cleaning up and water carting. Stations were manned by normal shift officers. Numbers of officers manning their respective stations are as follows Lautoka : 6 Sigatoka : 4 Nadi : 4 Ba : 6 Tavua : 4 Rakiraki : 3 Activities Lautoka Officers continue with the normal routine duties. Nadi Officers continue in the washing and cleaning up of Towns. Ba Officers were engaged in the cleaning of the Court House. Rakiraki Officers were engaged in the cleaning of Variety Shop. Sigatoka Officers have resumed normal routine duties AGRICULTURE The Department of Agriculture has started its rehabilitation programme with the first distribution of seeds to farmers in flood affected areas in the Western division. The Taiwan Technical Mission with the Department of Agriculture s Research Division had raised 10,000 seedlings that were to be distributed to farmers affected in the January floods. However, according to Director for Extension Division, Uraia Waibuta, seeds could not be distributed as the second flood occurred. The division will begin distributions to farms that have been worst affected in the West and the seedlings can be transplanted straight into the fields that have been cleared and prepared for planting. The Department of Agriculture will also be moving in to assist farmers in clearing debris and silts from their farms so that they can begin their land preparation and planting ASSISTANCE TO FLOOD VICTIMS (Donors) Refer to Annex4 for details.

Nadi/Lautoka - Water Lautoka 70% Nadi 80% No inflow from Intakes into Saru and Buabua WTP s: Buabua & Nalau Dam and the Varaqe Dam. Main crossing Nawaka river at Vatutu, damaged last night. See photo. Damage to smaller mains yet to be located & repaired. Water Carting Nadi 5 trucks + 2WAF Lautoka 12 trucks Inflow into Nagado WTP is now 88 MLD Buabua WTP: Operating at 45% production. Supply is being directed into areas in-accessible by water trucks. Buabua Intake: In flow to the WTP is 52L/s. A section of main that was at risk was concrete in-cased today. Nalau Intake: Repair works will be completed tomorrow. One repair team will be at the intake, other will be at the damaged main at the top irish crossing.
15 Saru WTP All repair works complete. Plant is being cleaned and recommissioned. Expect to start normalising the supply in the Saru in about 24 hours. Nadi/Lautoka - Sewer 100% - Ltka 90% - Nadi Damaged switchboards from flooding. Repair works have started at Vatutu. Physical repair of the main will start once a coffer dam is in place to divert the river away from the site. 2 water trucks (WAF)are servicing Sonaisali All switch boards are required to be checked before they are reenergised after flood damage. All electrical teams are working on water supply restoration as first priority. Bailing trucks are being used to control the situation Sigatoka Water 95% Burst and Damaged mains. Water Carting 3 hired trucks. Matovo WTP is operating at about 100% capacity. 3 raw water pumps running. Pump section are attending to the 4 th pump. Intercontinental receiving water from Natadola Reservoir. Normal pump operations for Natadola has resumed. Sigatoka Sewer 100% None so far. All systems operational. Sigatoka Rural WAF requested to assist in the restoration of 27 village schemes. 16 were visited today. 1 can t be accessed because of road blockage. Work to continue tomorrow.
