6 Medical teams monitoring the communicable disease situation and preventative measures to be taken. 6.0 EDUCATION No changes from previous SITREPS. 6.1 SCHOOL Assessment on the status of school readiness to resume classes on Tuesday 10 th April, advise that all schools in Western Division are able to resume normal classes on Tuesday 10 th April. 6.2 REPORTED DAMAGES IN SCHOOLS Reports received so far on 126 schools in the Western Division receiving damages to infrastructure and facilities, school resources and students stationary. It is anticipated that the numbers of damaged schools will increase as the initial assessment continues. The total damage estimated as at 0800hrs 7/4/12 amounts to $3,188, RESTORATION PLANS The Ministry of Education has commenced with its Rehabilitation planning process with the Education Cluster. The Education Cluster (MoE, AQEP, UNICE, Save the Children, Embassy of Japan,) conducted its second meeting on Thursday 5/4/12 to finalise logistic arrangement for the Damage Assessment verification visit scheduled for 10/04/ AGRICULTURE LAWRM estimated $200,000 damage for Vatutu dam 8.0 FIJI ROADS AUTHORITY Priority roads to be cleared immediately Bukuya Nasivikoso Valley Varealobo crossing Namuamua Road- Namado Gorge (Namosi) - completely washout& closed to all traffic.

Central Area Suva /Nausori: Headwords 3 Overflowing Both Waila and Waimanu Intake pumping station are flooded; quality of inflow has high turbidity. Water disruptions in the Suva/Nausori system have been occurring due to the current power situation. FEA has advised that power has normalised in the Central Region Navua: Inflow water quality is of high turbidity. Levuka: Operation is normal. B. Northern Area Labasa: Operation is normal Refer to Annex 5 for Western Division updates.

8 11.0 NATIONAL FIRE AUTHORITY Submitted is our operation report from all Western Stations. Situations for the last 14hrs are normal with crews engaging in cleaning up and water carting. Stations were manned by normal shift officers whilst off duty officers at some stations being called back to assist in the cleaningup of flood affected areas. Numbers of officers manning their respective stations are as follows: Lautoka : 06 Call back : 05 officers - cleaning up in Nadi (Nawaka Primary & village Hall) Sigatoka : 04 Nadi : 06 Call back : 06 officers - cleaning up in Nadi town Main Street Ba : 07 Tavua : 03 Call back : 01 officer - clean up of evacuation centers Rakiraki : 02 Activities Lautoka Officers were engaged in carting water from 1700hrs-0155hrs to the following affected areas: Waiyavi Stage 5: Mendhi Place, Bioletti Street, Kulu Place, Kali Place, M.T.Khan Rd, Jiale Street Natabua Housing: Fong Place Also 5 Lautoka officers were deployed to Nadi for the cleaning-up of Nawaka Primary School and the village hall. Nadi Officers were engaged in the washing &cleaning up of the main street Tavua Officers were engaged in cleaning up of evacuation centers Ba Officers were on stand-by during these operation hours as they were mainly engaged in cleaning up of Rarawai sugar mill during the day Rakiraki Officers were on stand-by Sigatoka Officers cleaning & washing Cuvu College DONOR HARE KRISHNA FOOD DONATION Hare Krishna group Lautoka had distributed cooked meals to a total of 1022 people as of (06/04/12) Donor Assistance Update NZ AID ASSISTANCE ETA 1.30pm on Saturday 7/4/12 Nadi Airport NZ Aid 2 nd consignment floor mats; 1,200 tarps (500 x large tarps & 700 x small tarps); 980 x 10lts and 1,000x 20lts water containers. Additional assistance announced on 6th April-$750,000. $500,000 for New Zealand based NGOs (in partnership with their Fiji counterparts) and a $250,000 grant (available upon request) for DISMAC.

9 JICA AID ASSISTANCE ETA TBC on Sunday 8/4/12 Nadi Airport JICA consignment - Water Purifiers: 30, Water Tanks: 30 and Portable Generator: 30. Action Required: Airport clearance and handing over at airport on Monday. (i) Donations South Pacific Waster Recycle Donated 12,500 rolls toilet paper valued at $6,000 received by the controller (iii) Food Pacific donation of $10, cash to the Prime Minister relief fund Digicel: A 40 member s team has already distributed 35 food rations packs to families the Sigatoka District and Cuvu College Evacuation centers CHALLENGES Completion of cleaning up campaign and returning of evacuees to their various household.
