4 Useful Information Coaches On the majority of our tours and on all of our Continental Holidays for your peace of mind we use our own drivers and our full executive style coaches with toilet/washroom and drinks facilities on-board. However, on shorter breaks or for events outside our control, we may occasionally use coaches without such facilities. However we are able to transport standard folding wheelchairs and walkers, but due to limited space on board the vehicles we have a limit of two such items. It is essential that we are informed at the time of booking and it is important that passengers check with us the accessibility of the hotel to prevent any problems. 5 519 Italy Lake Garda Italy Lake Garda Sheltered by the northern foothills of the Dolomites and edged with colourful towns and villages, Lake Garda boasts some of the most breathtaking scenery in Italy. With an almost Mediterranean climate - mild in the winter and temperate in the summer, the villages that make up Tignale are situated on a green plateau with breathtaking views and sheer terraces over the lake, impressive mountains behind, and beautiful olive groves down to the beach on the lakeside enchanting panoramic views everywhere that can only add to the enjoyment of your holiday. Tignale on the western side of the lake is an amalgamation of various small towns, the biggest of which is Gardola, just a short walk the Hotel Astra. Many of the houses date back to the 17th century and have fine portals made of stone. The plateau of Tignale is ideal for extensive walks during which again and again outstanding views of the lake are offered. Also worth a visit is Madonna di Montecastello, a pilgrimage church on top of a steep cliff, which can be reached via a small footpath. Hotel Astra The family run Hotel Astra is a firm favourite with K.M. clientele, many returning year after year. Located just a short walking distance the centre of Tignale with it s shops and bars, the village itself is easily accessible by a magnificent mountain road. The restaurant serves both English and Italian specialities and a buffet breakfast. All bedrooms are equipped with modern private facilities, telephone, TV and most have a balcony. 6 Italy Alassio 549 Italy Alassio Located on Italy s stunning Riviera of Flowers, close to Diano Marina and halfway between Genoa and the French border, Alassio is the ideal setting to explore this region of outstanding natural beauty. Once a small fishing village founded in the 10th century, Alassio became a tourist resort in the late 19th century thanks to the presence of English tourists and has now grown into a thriving holiday resort. Known for it s natural and scenic views, the town has sandy beaches, blue sea and many bars and restaurants on the sea front. Alassio also has a pier known as Moli di Alassio or Pontile Bestoso which offers views of the town. Majestic Hotel The three star Hotel Majestic is conveniently located overlooking the sea on the corner of the Promenade. All bedrooms are tastefully furnished to a high standard and offer en-suite facilities, air-conditioning, directdial telephone, safe and satellite TV. The bar and lounge are also airconditioned, as is the large attractive dining room which serves an excellent selection of both Italian and International cuisine and a buffet breakfast. 7 459 Spain Costa Brava Costa Brava Roses Known as the wild coast, the Costa Brava has been a favourite with British tourists for many years. It earns it s name the beautiful rugged coastline with it s steep rocky cliffs, golden sandy beaches and hidden coves dotted along it s length. The former Greek colony of Roses stretches between the Mediterranean and the mountains on the Costa Brava and is sometimes referred to as the little Venice of Spain due to the number of canals and bridges. At one time a peaceful fishing village, it has now developed into a thriving, lively and cosmopolitan tourist resort offering numerous pavement cafes and restaurants. Hotel Mediterraneo Park Just a short walk the golden beach, the three star Hotel Mediterraneo Park has an excellent reputation for quality and facilities. The hotel boasts a large outdoor pool, children s pool, gym, games room and bar with dance floor and entertainment most evenings. The spacious restaurant serves a good selection of buffet style meals. All of the bedrooms are served by the lift and are tastefully decorated and equipped with modern en-suite facilities, satellite TV and balcony. 8 Belgium Ostend / Jersey St. Helior Belgium Ostend Jersey by Air St. Helier 8 An extremely popular destination for a short break, Ostend is located on the Belgian coast, just twenty miles both the French and Dutch borders. It is Belgium s principal fishing port and has for generations been a favourite with the Belgian royal family. The old fishermen s quarter is bordered by the sea with twin piers and a yacht port whilst the town offers open squares with colourful markets, a good selection of pubs to sample the famous Belgian beers and a breathtaking choice of restaurants. Hotel Royal Astor Ideally located in the centre of Ostend, close to the beach and just a few minutes walk the main shopping area, the Hotel Royal Astor has recently undergone a refurbishment programme and offers excellent value with a reputation for quality. All of the comfortable bedrooms are equipped with modern en-suite facilities and satellite TV. There is a lift, a well stocked bar and restaurant serving excellent cuisine. The indoor swimming pool is a real bonus and is available to all guests. Just 14 miles the French coast, it has a continental feel while still being part of Britain. The scenery alone sets Jersey apart other holiday destinations. From the sandy bays of the south to the rocky cliffs of the north; the narrow country lanes that take you through charming villages to the duty free shops in the bustling heart of St. Helier, there is always something to occupy and entertain. The Metropole Hotel The Metropole is part of the Modern Hotel Group and is the perfect setting for all age groups. Ideally situated a few yards the centre of St. Helier and just a few minutes walk the beach at Havre de Pas, the hotel offers many facilities including residents bar, lounge bar, coffee shop open throughout the day, both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, jacuzzi, steam room and fully equipped gym. 9 Isle of Man / Ireland Dublin Isle of Man Ireland Dublin Famed for it s friendliness and laid-back warmth, don t be fooled by the size of the Isle of Man. Just 33 miles long and 13 miles wide, this tiny island has a rich past steeped in myths and legends and is home to an unusual variety of attractions; ancient fortresses, a working Victorian Railway, seas full of wrecks, fields full of rare orchids, the world s largest water wheel and of course, world class road racing events. The island also has it s own parliament, laws, traditions, it s own postage stamps, currency and Manx language, although English is the spoken language and sterling is accepted throughout. Douglas, the island s capital is the ideal spot which to explore. It has a Victorian Promenade which overlooks the stunning crescent of Douglas Bay and there is plenty to occupy here including a busy harbour, shops, bars, cafes plus many historical buildings and the Douglas Horse Tram which runs along the seafront. Chesterhouse Hotel Ideally located on the seafront in Douglas and close to the town centre, facilities at the Chesterhouse Hotel include a lift, entertainment, Amber Bar and Lounge plus the Shiraz restaurant serving an excellent menu of traditional dishes whilst offering splendid panoramic views across the bay to the Irish Sea. But it is the raw beauty of the region that attracts most visitors, dramatic coastal views to wild deserted landscapes and traditional Irish villages offering locally made tweeds and hand-knits.
