2 ACCOMMODATION PLAN For the 2016 IPC Swimming European Open Championships in Funchal, the Portuguese Swimming Federation in collaboration with Inter Tours Travel Consulting, selected the accommodation options that best serve the requirements for the competition: accessibility for the athletes, proximity to the competition venue and a central location in the city providing the easy access and transportation for all the involved. The selected hotels are all 4 or 5 stars. Accommodation dates 26/04 (first meal to be served will be dinner) to 08/05 (last meal to be served will be breakfast). Teams may book accommodation prior or after these dates. However, all requested changes are subject to confirmation by the LOC and the presented prices may change. 2

3 ACCOMMODATION PLAN PRICES The Portuguese Swimming Federation have considered all accommodation options within the city of Funchal and selected several hotels that allow easy access to the competition venue whilst providing a central location. The accommodation options range are 4 and 5 star and provide a high level of service with good facilities including free Wi-Fi and adaptive bedrooms. The hotels have also been selected to allow for a simplified and unified transport system from the city centre to the training and competition venue. The prices we present are per person per night. 5 ACCOMMODATION PLAN PRICES For all hotels listed above, Funchal 2016 will provide an extensive service including personalised management of all bookings with on-site representation at all hotels by way of a Sports Information Desk. The LOC will also manage all rooming lists and meal requirements to ensure that all those attending the event benefit from the very best possible experience. Full details of the booking process will follow shortly and the allocation will be operated on a first come first serve basis. Meal Package The meal package is included in the accommodation costs and no additional charges will be incurred to the NPCs. The package includes breakfast, a buffet lunch and dinner served in the hotels. Accommodation Transport Transportation will be provided from the hotels to the venue. Closer to the event the routes will be published. The journey time will be no more than 15 minutes. These shuttle services will run on a regular basis taking into consideration the Championships training and competition timetables. 5

6 ACCOMMODATION PLAN TEAM HOTELS PESTANA CASINO PARK HOTEL, 5 STARS The sophisticated Pestana Casino Park was designed by the great master of world architecture Oscar Niemeyer and is part of the most emblematic touristic complexes in Madeira Island, and includes the well-known Casino of Madeira and the Congress & Convention Centre (there are meeting rooms available for renting to the teams). This hotel is located at 20 km s away from Madeira International Airport and only a few minutes walk from the urban center of Funchal. The venue is 4 km away (around 15 minutes by bus). The hotel has 202 rooms and 15 suites furnished balconies with views over the blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Pestana Bay also has a conference room with access to the garden available for meetings and events. The city of Funchal is only 10 minutes away and the Airport of Madeira is 20km from the hotel. 15 CANCELLATION POLICY & ADITIONAL NOTES All teams and interested people must book accommodation by the 31st of January 2016, with full payment of it. Please note that the LOC must receive the full amount of the accommodation fee. This means that the payer is responsible for all the bank fees, if applicable. Funchal 2016 organisation allows that teams change 15% of their booking until 40 days prior to the beginning of the event 20th of March This means that teams are allowed to increase or decrease 15% of the number of the rooms they have booked. Teams may change 15% of twin rooms into single rooms (or vice versa). In this case the price for the single rooms must be paid. After the 20th of March 2016 no changes or refunds will be made to the Teams.
