1 INAS and General Assembly Sheffield, Great Britain DELEGATE INFORMATION
2 Inas April Welcome On behalf of the Inas Governing Board, I am delighted to welcome you to the INAS and General Assembly which takes place in Sheffield, Great Britain. The weekend provides an important opportunity for you, the membership, to share experiences, to hear updates and reports on INAS activities, but also to meet with colleagues from other member organisations and help INAS plan for the future. This year is particularly exciting as, for the first time, the event will incorporate the INAS Awards. A chance to recognise the incredible achievements of athletes with an intellectual disability and the many people that support them. We received 15 nominations across the four categories and I would like to extend my congratulations to all nominees, particularly those shortlisted finalists, and of course the winners. The time since our last General Assembly in Rio De Janiero, Brazil has once again seen significant changes. Our staff team has grown, our membership has grown and we have delivered projects across the World to develop sport. However, we also recognise that we face many challenges. Fundraising income has been much more difficult to identify, we are seeing fewer athletes competing in competition, and the organisation faces increasing demands from our many partners. This years conference will aim to address some of those concerns and I look forward to the lively and enthusiastic debate that the INAS membership will bring to the discussion. We will also be looking ahead to the INAS Global Games, to the 2019 INAS Global Games and to future of our organisation and how its governance is shaped. I very much look forward to meeting with you in Sheffield, Kind regards, Amaury Russo, Inas President

7 Inas April Welcome to Sheffield Sheffield - whose name is derived from the River Sheaf, which runs through the city - is the UK s 5th largest city and has a population of 551,800 people. The city is recognised around the World for its steel production, including the innovation of crucible and stainless steel, but has more recently undergone significant transformation and is now home to the English Institute of Sport, Meadowhall shopping centre, Sheffield Arena and Ponds Forge International Sports Centre. The city lies on the edge of the English Peak District national park and the city itself has more than 250 parks, woodlands and gardens. Inas registered office was moved to Sheffield in 2013 and it is anticipated that its first International Office will, when funds allow, be located here.
