Acting, temporary or past commanders are not authorized to wear the Insignia. All acting major unit and unit commander who are currently wearing the insignia without proper authorization should cease to do so by Order No.130 Performance Appraisal The Performance Appraisal Exercise 2010 for senior members will be held in January and February, The results of the appraisal will assure the quality of the Corps' services, and will be taken into consideration by the Executive Board and Commanding Officer when deciding on recommendations for promotions, decorations, medals or commendations. 9 HEADQUARTERS ROUTINE ORDER 9/2010 Serial No...11 Page of 9 Date Nov 2010 Order No.131 Logging of Duty Hours by Senior Members Please be notified that the deadline for the submission of detailed duty hours logs for the year 2010 by senior members to the Commanding Officer (Attn: WO WONG S M, AA1) is 28 January 2011, should recognition for volunteer community service from the Social Welfare Department (SWD) be sought. Members who do not seek SWD recognition may elect to have their 2010 annual duty hours summarily indicated on the Performance Appraisal Form for submission not later than 15 February Senior members who do not satisfy the minimum annual efficiency requirement (100 duty hours) may not be considered for promotion, and will forfeit one year s seniority for the purpose of accumulating efficient service toward the Hong Kong Cadet Forces Medal. Order No.132 Promotion Exercise for Senior Members Recommendations are now invited from DCOs and equivalence for the promotion of senior members under their command. Any of the following four types of promotion may be recommended: (a) (b) (c) (d) from Flying Officer to Flight Lieutenant; from Pilot Officer to Flying Officer; from Warrant Officer for direct appointment to either Pilot Officer or Flying Officer; and from Instructor to Sgt Instructor (recommendations accepted all year round). Interviews for candidates shortlisted for promotion from Fg Off to Flt Lt and from WO to Plt Off/Fg Off will be held in March, Recommendations should reach CSO via WO WONG S M, AA1, not later than 15 February Late recommendations will not be accepted. All recommendations will be vetted by CSO against established promotion criteria before submission to CO for his consideration. Candidates who have not undergone performance appraisal and/or have not submitted duty hours for the year 2010 may not be considered. Successful candidates will have 1 January 2011 as their effective promotion date. Order No.133 Application for the allocation of Wing Headquarters and Squadron funds All applications for the allocation of Wg HQ and Sqn funds under Financial Year 2010/11 should reach CO for approval not later than 31 January Late submission will not be processed. Order No.134 General Purpose Jacket Following a recommendation from the Uniform Committee, with effect from Autumn 2010, all members may elect to wear the optional dark blue air force style General Purpose Jacket (GPJ) for everyday use with the following modes of uniform: No 2 (Full) Service Working Dress Uniform No 2A (Long Sleeved) Routine Working Dress Uniform No 2B (Short Sleeved) Routine Working Dress Uniform Other than spectators and supporting personnel, the jacket should not be worn by members on formal parades. If worn, the GPJ zip slider is to be zipped up to at least 10 cm from the top zip stop. Commissioned officers should use rank slides with dark blue (not grey) backing on the GPJ, available for purchase at HQ. With the introduction of the GPJ, nylon or leather flight jackets are no longer authorized for wearing with dress uniform and henceforth restricted for use with flight clothing.
