Pm AFTERNOON FREE PERFORMANCE 2: MARY STUART by Friederich Schiller (TBC) Associate director of the Almeida Robert Icke has established quite a reputation for adapting and contemporising classic texts (The Oresteia, Uncle Vanya). Schiller s great drama of the imagined battle of wills between two Queens Elizabeth I and Mary Queen of Scots is his next project. He directs Juliet Stevenson and Lia Williams. The home of Kirsten Loyd and Rhydian Morgan-Jones, on a beautiful estate, Woolley Park is a delightful welcoming house and has been in Kirsten s family since After showing us around their charming walled garden, and drinks on the terrace (weather permitting), together they will host luncheon in their splendid dining room. 3 Wednesday 18 January MORNING FREE Pm PERFORMANCE 4: LOVE S LABOUR S LOST by William Shakespeare The Royal Shakespeare Company s productions of two of the Bard s most popular romantic comedies are given a brilliantly original twist in using a company of actors for both plays and setting them either side of the First World War. PERFORMANCE 5: LOVE S LABOUR S WON by William Shakespeare More commonly known as Much Ado About Nothing. Theatre Royal, Haymarket Thursday 19 January ALL DAY FREE PERFORMANCE 6: SAINT JOAN by George Bernard Shaw England has invaded France, claiming the throne for Henry VI. English forces continue to triumph and everything indicates that God is on their side, until a farm girl claims that angels are instructing her to support the French King. The Maid of Orléans passion and oratory at the town s siege lifts French hearts and paves the way for their final victory. Provocatively topical, Shaw s masterpiece dramatises the power and the peril of one person s extraordinary faith. Josie Rourke directs Gemma Arterton in the title role. Donmar Warehouse Friday 20 January Am CRITICAL ROUND UP A chance to compare your views with one of London's leading critics, perhaps Henry Hitchings of The London ning Standard or Matt Wolf of Bloomberg Online and Herald International Tribune of Michael Billington of The Guardian. 6 TERMS AND CONDITIONS NUMBERS A minimum of 20 people paying and a maximum of 24 unless agreed otherwise. If the numbers drop below this level, it may be necessary to make a surcharge or to cut back on activities. PRICE SINGLE SUPPLEMENT per person sharing a Twin/Double room single supplement. The price of participation in the tour includes the cost of sharing a twin or double bedded room. The single supplement is the additional cost incurred when one person stays in a room on his/her own. Many hotels in Europe now charge the same price for the room whether occupied by one or two people. The following cancellation charges normally apply For cancellations received more than one calendar month before departure: deposit. For cancellations received fifteen days to one calendar month before departure: 50% of tour price. For cancellations received fourteen days to one day before departure: 75% of tour price. For cancellations received within 24 hours of departure: 100% of tour price. London Arts must reserve the right not to operate any tour for which there are insufficient bookings. Full payment, including deposit, will be refunded. Meals, unless specified, or events not in the itinerary or any other items of a purely personal nature. An event described as optional is not included in the tour price. Travellers are recommended to insure against cancelling

7 their tour. Adequate medical expenses and travel insurance are essential. Travellers are strongly advised to arrange this through the travel agent. London Arts will not be responsible under any circumstances for expenses incurred under either of these headings. LIABILITIES GOVERNING LAW London Arts undertakes to exercise all due diligence to ensure that the arrangements booked are provided in accordance with the agreed itinerary. Since the arrangements involve independent parties not employed by nor under the control of London Arts, they accept no responsibility for and shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury caused by events such as (but not limited to) strikes, industrial action, government action, natural disasters, fire, flood, technical, weather problems affecting transport, cancellation of performances, performances/cast changes or similar events beyond their control. If any event included in the itinerary is not held, for whatever reason, London Arts will endeavour to arrange a comparable alternative. The terms and conditions as stated herein are subject to English Law.
