Under the terms of the agreement, Realis Estates will develop up to 685,000 sq ft of retail space including a new department store, as well as cafés, restaurants, public spaces, a multi-screen cinema, a hotel and improved parking. Realis Estates and the North Staffordshire Regeneration Partnership will also establish a joint venture to build a new bus station alongside the shopping centre. Design, planning and procurement of contractors for the bus station is to take place during 2010 and early Construction work will follow and is expected to be complete in mid Realis Estates anticipates the redeveloped centre will open in late Realis Estates has already invested 30m in site assembly and preparation for the new East West Centre. The business was set-up to target high-yielding, income producing assets, with latent development potential. 12/09 - It is understood that Red Grouse, in a JV with Threadneedle, bought a 610-acre plot of land in Chelmsford, Essex from the Ford Motor Company. Threadneedle is understood to have provided the equity for the circa 20m deal. Red Grouse will work up long term plans for the site and will take a profit share from the deal. The site is currently let to Hanson and produces an income of around 2m. If approved, the development could be completed by 2014, when George Square is likely to become a focal point of Glasgow's Commonwealth Games celebrations. The 200m Regal Tower will be located at the corner of Broad Street and Sheepcote Street, and next to Brindleyplace. It has been designed by Aedas Architects and comprises office and retail space and leisure space including a 289-bedroom hotel, 256 serviced apartments, penthouses, restaurants, bars, a spa and a banqueting suite.
