3 CandidateInstructions 1. Carryoutthe Flight asindicatedonthechartandflightplan,transmitting all necessary RTF messages and position reports on the appropriate frequencies.theteststartsassumingthatyouhavejustenteredtheaircraft youareparkedonstand6. 2. After GUILDFORD your route takes you through the ODIHAM Military Air Traffic Zone (MATZ); obtain the necessary clearance to penetrate the MATZ.FarnboroughRadaristhecontrollingauthorityfortheMATZ. 3. EnWroutefromWHITCHURCHtoREADINGyouobserveanaircraftthathas landed in the middle of a field, approximately 5 miles south west of READING.2personscanbeseenwiththeaircraft.Theydonotappeartobe in immediate danger, but you are concerned for their safety.makethe appropriatecall. 4. Once you have passed READING, you become unsure of your position. RequestaQDMfromBENSONtohelpconfirmyourposition. 5. After you have received the QDM from Benson, obtain the appropriate clearancetoenterthehighwycombeatzinordertooverflytheairfield. 6. OnceenWroutetoBIGGINHILLinsidetheHEATHROWcontrolzone,obtain the BIGGIN HILL weather and, if suitable, carry out the procedure for approach and landing at BIGGIN HILL. If not, divert to your alternate REDHILL. 7. At some stage during the Flight you will be made aware of an EMERGENCY situation.youwillbeexpectedtocarryouttheappropriate RTFprocedureuntilyouaremadeawaretheemergencyhasceased. 8. There is no requirement to contact GATWICK for arrivals into REDHILL providedyouremainwithintheredhillatz. 9. Ifyouhaveanyquestionsregardingtheconductofthetest,orwhatyouare requiredtodo,asktheexaminer. 10. You are provided with a list of frequencies for Communication and Navigation facilities. You may not require all of these frequencies. If a frequency or facility is not listed, it should not be required however; aeronauticalinformationisalwaysavailablefromtheregionalfis.
