The hands-on, interactive museum includes paleontology displays, a working laboratory where dinosaur bones are prepared for display, a collections room where scientists study dinosaurs and other animals, a simulated earthquake ride, a dinosaur library reading area, a sandbox for making your own dinosaur tracks, and a quarry site where kids can uncover actual Jurassic dinosaur bones. Western Colorado Botanical Gardens 641 Struthers Ave (970) In 1994, the Western Colorado Botanical Society entered into a long-term lease with the City of Grand Junction for a 15 acre site along the Colorado River. Thousands of volunteer hours were donated to remove the acres of debris before construction could begin.the tropical greenhouse opened on November 8, Native butterflies were introduced into the Butterfly House in The Western Colorado Botanical Gardens (WCBG) is home to an Herb Garden, Cactus Garden, Rose Garden, and Orchid Display that are maintained by local gardening organizations. The WCBG maintains several other gardens, including the Childrens Secret Garden, Shozan-en, Celebration Plaza, Community Garden, and the lovely public gardens that surround our buildings. As the WCBG grows, more gardens will be developed.

These three combined Forests cover 3,161,900 acres of public land in the central and southern Rocky Mountains, an area that lies south of the Colorado River and west of the Continental Divide, with some of the most spectacular scenery in the Rockies. The Forests vary in elevation from 5,800 feet above sea level in Roubideau Creek Canyon to 14,309 feet on Uncompahgre Peak. The Forests include spectacular features like the 355 foot high Bridal Veil falls; the Grand Mesa with over 300 lakes, one of the world s largest flat top mountains; and Alpine Tunnel, once the highest railroad tunnel in North America.
