Mr. Tomeo has been a licensed attorney for over 20 years, and has been actively involved in the construction industry for over 30 years. A significant amount of Mr. Tomeo s construction consulting practice has focused on analyzing and resolving construction related issues between project owners, sureties, general contractors and subcontractors. In addition, Mr. Tomeo has been designated as an expert on numerous construction cases, has defended and prepared construction claims, and has testified in mediation, arbitration and trial. Benchmark Consulting Services, LLC - Irvine, California (2000 Present) Mr. Tomeo is a partner of Benchmark Consulting Services, LLC and manages its Irvine, California office. Mr. Tomeo provides consulting services in the areas of surety, construction project management, alternative dispute resolution, as well as construction claim preparation and defense. Over the past twenty years, Mr. Tomeo has been retained by multiple sureties, public agencies, general contractors and subcontractors to assist in handling construction disputes on over 275 projects in the Western United States and Mexico. Mr. Tomeo has been retained as a surety and damages expert on numerous cases and has defended and prepared multiple construction claims for project owners, sureties, general contractors and subcontractors. Mr. Tomeo has acted as a liaison between project owners and contractors to resolve construction disputes, and has participated in mediation, arbitration and trial. Sage Construction Consulting - Irvine, California ( ) Mr. Tomeo performed construction consulting specializing in surety, construction project management and construction claim preparation and defense. Mr. Tomeo assisted numerous sureties in successfully analyzing claims and assisting in the completion of troubled construction projects throughout California and Nevada. He assisted in the management of over 1,000 damage claims resulting from the Northridge earthquake and acted as project manager on construction defect matters. Mr. Tomeo produced technical training seminars for surety clients and was a presenter on several occasions at the Western States Surety Conference.
