To receive the CDAA rate of $129 single/double occupancy (plus hotel tax), call the hotel at (888) and mention CDAA. Although the cut-off date for reservations is October 21, 2009, make your reservation as soon as possible as rooms may sell out before the deadline. From the other side of the Tower, views of the city are impressive. Lombard Street Lombard Street s famous switchback turns, on Russian Hill between Hyde and Leavenworth Streets, make it known as the crookedest street in the city. Created in 1922 out of necessity because the hill s natural grade was too steep for cars and pedestrian s to go up or down. Union Square Union Square is one of San Francisco s main shopping destinations in the city. Bordered by Geary, Powell, Post, and Stockton streets, it has been the home of the best shopping, dining and theatre for over 100 years. AT&T Park AT&T Park Home of the San Francisco Giants, and one of the top, classically designed stadiums in the country, features breathtaking views from many sections of the stadium. Chinatown Chinatown is located in downtown San Francisco, and roughly bordered by Powell Street and the Nob Hill Neighborhood. The area most popular among tourists is where Grant Avenue and Bush Street meet, with the famous Dragon gate above. The Golden Gate Bridge The Golden Gate Bridge is the iconic suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the opening of the San Francisco Bay onto the Pacific Ocean. 8 Area Attractions Golden Gate Park Golden Gate Park was originally developed in the 1890 s and has been maintained and preserved as a place to play and relax in the city of San Francisco. With a new museum, the de Young, and the Conservatory of Flowers, tourists will relish in the sights of this amazing park. Haight-Ashbury Haight-Ashbury is a district most famous for its role in the 1960s hippie movement. It is located near Golden Gate Park and encompasses the neighborhood surrounding Haight Street. The 60s era and modern American counterculture has been synonymous with San Francisco and the upper Haight neighborhood ever since. Wax Museum The Wax Museum at Fisherman s Wharf is one of the city s most popular landmarks. The museum opened in 1963 by Thomas Fong, and it has been a vital and changing attraction in San Francisco ever since. Boudin s Sourdough Museum Fisherman s Wharf is the flagship location for Boudin s Sourdough. Maritime Museum When you visit San Francisco s Maritime Museum, you ll discover historic vessels and discover your connections to the city s maritime heritage. Palace of Fine Arts Built in 1915 for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition, the Palace of Fine Arts features a classical Roman rotunda in a picturesque park setting. Beach Blanket Babylon An internationally acclaimed San Francisco institution, Steve Silver s Beach Blanket Babylon, is a zany musical spoof of pop culture with extravagant costumes and outrageously huge hats. Now in its 34th year of sold-out performances, it continually evolves in its hilarious parodies of current events and popular icons as today s headlines unfold. Cable Car Museum The Cable Car Museum was established in 1974 and is operated by the Friends of the Cable Car Museum as a nonprofit educational facility. Located in the historic Washington/Mason cable car barn and powerhouse, the museum deck overlooks the huge engines and winding wheels that pull the cables. Cliff House and Seal Rock Four different variations of the Cliff House have stood on the cliffs overlooking Seal Rock, at the Northwest corner of San Francisco. When the third, and most ornate, version of the building burned down, the fourth version to be built was designed more like the first two: simple, and made to blend in with the ocean and cliffs surrounding it. That fourth version is still standing today. It s a great place to just stroll along the beach, breathe in the salty air, and listen to the waves. The Cliff House has always been one of the true San Francisco icons. Palace of the Legion of Honor Known as the Legion of Honor by locals, it represents the museum collection and the building itself. It displays a collection of 4,000 years of ancient and European art in an exquisite Beaux-Arts building in an unforgettable setting overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. San Francisco s most beautiful public museum is located in Lincoln Park near 34th Avenue and Clement Street. San Francisco s Westfield Shopping Center San Francisco s Westfield Shopping Center is San Francisco s premier shopping mall located on Market Street. Monster Park Monster Park, home of the San Francisco 49ers, formerly known as Candlestick Park, is located south of downtown San Francisco.
