TOGA is working with the ColonialBeach Foundation to present the seminar/workshop. The seminar/workshopwill begin with a presentation by Vic Spain, Master Oyster Gardener(MOG), and Past President of TOGA. Vic will discuss all aspects ofoyster gardening, including how to get started gardening and how totake care of the oysters. He will also discuss the Virginia Marine Resources Commission permitting process and the Virginia HealthDepartment regulations on growing oysters in the waters around Colonial Beach. After Vic s presentation, he and several other MOGs will be onhand to instruct and help build oyster floats for anyone who wants to build one. The seminar/workshop will be held at the St Mary s EpiscopalChurch Parish Hall, 203 Dennison Street, Colonial Beach. It will start at 9:00 a.m. and wrap up sometime around noon. We will attempt to haveenough materials available for anyone who wants to build a float. Materials will be provided at a cost of $50 per float. You can pay bycash or check the day of the seminar/workshop. Checks should be madeout to the Colonial Beach Foundation. Baby oysters (spat) will also beavailable for purchase at a cost of $35/1000.
