1 NEWS FROM DENMARK MARCH 2017 Port of Aalborg Port of Aalborg ready to meet new PRF environmental requirements Cruise vessels can discharge black and grey water in an environmentally friendly manner when calling the Port of Aalborg. The Port of Aalborg is the only CO2-neutral port in Denmark, and now another big investment is on the way to the benefit of both the environment and the cruise lines. In collaboration with the municipality of Aalborg, the Port of Aalborg is set to make its biggest investment in the cruise business, since constructing the Royal Cruise Berth at the city center. From 2018, cruise vessels will be able to discharge both black and grey water through a connection at the pier and directly the public sewage system. The waste water will be processed at the local waste water treatment plant. The facility will be able to receive an unlimited volume, with a rate of about cubic meter per hour. The facilities will be in line with the IMO/HELCOM regulations for cruise vessels in the Baltics that will apply to new vessels from 2019 and to all existing vessels from The investment is in line with the environment strategy of the Port of Aalborg. - We want to be the market leader in the supply of environmentally sustainable logistics services and facilities, properties and infrastructure in the port. We will ensure that the business areas achieve international standards in terms of sustainability and local environmental cooperation, Claus Holstein, CEO at the Port of Aalborg, said. During recent years, the Port of Aalborg has experienced a large increase in cruise tourism, and the new investment is set to support that growth.

Now the Royal Danish Collection has awakened a selection of them in the exhibition From the Danish Royal Family s Lofts and Cellars at Amalienborg. HM The Queen and the Royal Family s curator Elisabeth von Buchwald have cherry picked from storerooms and magazines for the exhibition, which recreates eight of the Royal Family s depots through more than 2000 objects. INGEN TEKST MED AARHUS Aarhus 2017 European Capital of Culture Aarhus is European Capital of Culture 2017, and on 21 January the official opening took place with a giant event in the streets of Aarhus. Throughout the year more than 350 events will take place, making 2017 an eventful year that is not to be missed. Selected highlights: The Aarhus Story In April, The Old Town Museum - Den Gamle By open the gates to the new exhibition Aarhus Stories. The exhibition will be a permanent installation showing a chronological timeline of Aarhus - from its bare origins in the Viking age and until today. Most of Aarhus Stories will be from the past 150 years, which has shaped the city of Aarhus that we know today. Open from 12 April permanent. THE GARDEN In 2017, ARoS presents the first triennial entitled THE GARDEN End of Times; Beginning of Times. The exhibition will extend over two entire galleries at the museum as well as carefully selected locations in the urban landscape, and a coastal stretch along the bay bordered by woodland just south of the city. This will create an art zone spanning more than four kilometres. The museum exhibition will be displayed at ARoS from 8 April 20 October. The art zone in the city from 3 June 30 July. Røde Orm - Red Serpent Experience the Viking saga Red Serpent (Røde Orm) about a young Viking who embarks on a journey of power struggle and sword fights to reach his only love -.the king's daughter. Moreover, Tivoli s Merry Corner area will be rejuvenated with the redesign of the Nautilus carousel to fit in with the explorer s theme of the area. However, some things don t change. Tivoli's oldest ride is also its most popular, namely the Roller Coaster, which has been operating for over a century. One of the world's oldest wooden roller coasters still in operation, it is one of only seven roller coasters worldwide that still has a 'brake man' on board the coaster car. Other iconic Tivoli rides include the Ferris Wheel, the Vintage Cars, where toddlers tightly grip the steering wheels of miniature copies of quaint old cars, and the high-speed Vertigo, which travels at a top speed of 100 km/h. In the Flying Trunk you pass through 32 scenes from Hans Christian Andersen s best known fairy tales. Tivoli's many traditional stalls invite visitors to try their luck at placing a bet, shooting targets and throwing a ball into a bucket. Captivating culture The 2017 summer season begins with an Easter celebration. Colourful decorations and fun activities for families with younger children are planned, including live animals and dress-up competitions. The programme of events at Tivoli is varied, ranging from open-air Friday Rock (and hip-hop, pop etc.) to the Summer Classic festival at the Tivoli Concert Hall, from Dance Class Days to professional ballet at the Pantomime Theatre. Most of the entertainment is open-air and free of charge once admission to Tivoli is paid. With live music being an important part of Tivoli s DNA, it will be a big improvement when the Orangery and its new stage opens at the beginning of the summer season. Here Tivoli s guest will be able to properly enjoy the smaller concerts and get that close-up-and-personal feeling. A new garden layout will surround the Orangery. At weekends, the young musicians of the Tivoli Youth Guard captivate the crowds by playing music as they parade through the Gardens. The Youth Guard was founded in Today ot is one of Denmark s best musicla educations for children. Every night of the week, visitors can watch the Tivoli Illuminations show on the lake, and two nights a week fireworks light up the sky above Tivoli.

Close to 200 black and white photographs are on display. Taken in the 1960s in the United States, the photographs depict a time characterized by great social and political change. Dennis Hopper found himself in the middle of a turbulent time and documented everything that happened around him.
