April 17, 2018 Colebrookdale Railroad Spend the day visiting with family and friends aboard the Colebrookdale Railroad. The two hour round trip departs and arrives in Boyertown, PA. Spring in the Secret Valley is a magical experience, as the deep forests come back to life. We will learn some local history as the train runs through a scenic landscape rich with the brilliant colors of native wild flowers as well as the remnants of America s iron ore heritage. Our lunch will be served in the restored dining car as we ride the rails. In the afternoon, we will ride the newly-restored historic Pottstown Carousel. Two hundred hours has been devoted to restoring each wooden animal in the circle of 50 animals, and 50 hours has been spent painting and restoring the carousel to its 1905 grandeur. The center also offers an Airbus IMAX Theater and the Donald Engen Observation Tower, which gives you a 360 degree bird s eye view of planes taking off and landing from Dulles International Airport in DC. You will also visit the Mary Baker Engen Restoration Hanger where you can watch aviation specialists restore aircraft from a glass-walled mezzanine overlooking the action on the ground floor. Dover Heritage Day Thu. May 3, 2018 Air Mobility Command Museum, Johnson Victrola Museum & John Bell House Visit the Dover Air Mobility Command Museum, located on the Dover Air Force Base. During WWII, the 4146 Base Unit was involved in secret rocket development at what was then known as Dover Army Airfield. The building complex where these secret military operations took place was Hangar From the 50s to the 70s, various fighter squadrons called the hangar home. In the 90s after restoration and placement on the National Register of Historic Places, Hangar 1301 was given new life as the home of the Air Mobility Command Museum.
