2 2 of 5 15/12/ :45 AM Echuca has a historic port, cosmopolitan restaurant and café scene, and plenty of action on and around the Murray River that snakes through town. At nearby Billabong Ranch the main drawcard is horse riding on guided trail rides through red gum forests and along the riverbanks. The ranch setting is ideal for campfire breakfasts or dinners and, for children, there is the Billabong Ranch Fun Park, with indoor mini golf, pedal boats in a large dam, a 30m tall rock-climbing wall, outdoor tenpin bowling, beach volleyball, and indoor animal nursery. While the ranch has dormitory-style accommodation, a short drive away is Yarraby Caravan Park ( set on about 10ha on the river. It s a quiet place to throw in a line or chill out on a riverbank while the kookaburras laugh and the cockatoos flash around the tree tops. On the Funnel Web clover leaf rafts loop and twist down a hill before dipping into a large funnel and being spat out into a splash pool. On the Behemoth Bowl riders whiz down through a spiral before being dumped in a pool. About 15km south of Jamberoo isseven Mile Beach Holiday Park ( /Sevenmile_Beach/). It s a place to unwind in a quiet setting, but for those who want to power on there is canoeing, fishing and surfing.

After golf, riding go-karts or a spin on a moon bike there s more on offer back at the park, which is surrounded by a network of walking trails, a 30km bike path, Basham Beach Regional Park, a big adventure playground and jumping pillow. In the Perth foothills half an hour away is Perth Vineyards Holiday Park in the heart of the Swan Valley wine region and only 14km from Perth s CBD. The park is also close to the airport and motorhome and car hire depots. Accommodation options include caravan, camping sites and standard, luxury and deluxe cabins and villas. Among the facilities are barbecues, swimming pool, playground and recreation room.

Nearby is BIG4 Maroochy Palms Holiday Village. Step outside the park s confines and walk along the wetlands of Maroochy River, or get a natural high with the Buderim Forest Walk. The round trip follows a beautiful rainforest track, home to colourful bird life and waterfall views. The park has a mini golf course, inflatable trampoline, pool, lawn bowls, adventure playground and stylish self-contained cabins.
