MOOR PARK MANSION open to the public (NADFAS Heritage Volunteers). NADFAS heritage volunteers from local societies conduct tours of this early 18th-century Grade I listed building, now owned by Moor Park Golf Club. Tours (N.B. The last one starts at 11 am) are free but donations to the Moor Park Heritage Foundation in support of preserving the Mansion would be appreciated. The Club s dress code does not permit jeans or trainers. Other tour dates (all Thursdays) : 19th May, 16th June, 21st July, 4th and 18th August, 22nd September and 20th October. THE RICKY WEEK CARNIVAL PARADE (Organised by the Rickmansworth and District Residents Association) Chief organiser: Martin Jones DECORATED FLOATS and other entries assemble on the southern side of the High Street between the railway bridge and St Joan of Arc School. JUDGING of entries starts. (Awards : Jennings Cup for youth organisations, Garrett Cup for local firms, Deans Cup for individual entries and Round Table Cup for adult organisations.) The parade moves off to the Bury Grounds via the High Street, Station Road, Northway, Church Street and Bury Lane. The collection along the route this year is for the St John Ambulance, a local registered charity, and towards the cost to the Rickmansworth Society of promoting Ricky Week. GRAND CARNIVAL FÊTE in the Bury Grounds (Batchworth Sea Scouts). Barbecue, teas, many stalls and sideshows, District Cubs tug-of-war competition and other attractions. CROWNING OF MISS RICKMANSWORTH 2016 and formal opening of the 62nd Rickmansworth Week, with presentation of the John Whiteside Memorial Cup for the best window display for the Week and the Lamb Shield for the winners of the tug-of-war. There will be no Rickmansworth Society reception this year. Page 7
