Location Colombia is the gateway to South America and it is strategically located in the tropics. The only country in the continent to border both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, Colombia also features a variety of climates within its territory. Politics The country is a democracy and one of the Latin American countries with greatest institutional and judicial strength. The post-conflict era is now beginning, which will open the door to countless opportunities. Economy With one of the most stable economies in the region, the country features strong industrial development and numerous investment opportunities. 3 olombia Tourism Bogotá, Cartagena, Medellín, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Santa Marta, and Cali are cities with some of the greatest growth, forecasts, and development in all of Latin America. These cities offer tourist attractions for visitors from all over the world. Food Colombian cuisine inspired by the rich legacy of the flavors and aromas of the many cultures found throughout the country is internationally recognized for its high quality and diversity. 4 ogotá Located at 8,675 feet above sea level, Bogotá is the capital of Colombia, making it the most important and iconic city in the South American continent. In Bogotá are located the main colombian government agencies, the presidential palace, the National Congress, the ministries and the major labor unions are all found in the city. Bogotá is the cultural heart of Colombia and the city with the greatest cultural, national and international diversity in the country. It is home to many significant museums and restaurants, as well as many tourist attractions. The main educational institutions are also based in Bogotá. 5 INTERNATIONAL WEEKS The school s International Weeks bring together students from diferent programs such as EMBA, MBA, MSc, and Executive Education programs from international business schools and universities. At Uniandes, participating students enjoy a personalized experience centered around the development of a particular topic. These weeks are jointly organized by the two partner institutions. The week features the participation of internationally renowned professors from Universidad de los Andes through lectures, visits, and business experiences, as well as panels and talks with business leaders from Colombian companies, Multilatins, and multinational companies. In addition to these academic and business experiences, International Weeks are complemented by trips to other parts of the city and the country. Food, music, and dance are just a few of the activities that can be enjoyed by those interested in learning more about the Colombian and Latin American culture. These activities may be carried out in Bogotá and/or in other Colombian cities such as Cartagena, Medellín, Barranquilla and Cali, according to the goals defined for the International Week.

6 SOME MODULES When planning the content and activities of the International Weeks, we seek to create a comprehensive academic and business experience, working jointly with the participating university to take into account its needs and expectations. We have thus developed a set of thematic modules from which the universities can choose.
