Phone: (604) Web: East Kootenay Premier Lake Provincial Park Premier Lake Park, situated 72 km north of Cranbrook, contains 57 vehicle/tent camp sites and is located at the south end of the lake. There are no drive-through sites. There is an information shelter located at the entrance to the park but no telephone. 9 Whiteswan Lake Provincial Park Whiteswan Lake Provincial Park is located within the Kootenay Ranges of the Rocky Mountains, 22km southeast of the Village of Canal Flats, the nearest community. Access is from Highway 93/95, turn east 4.5 kilometres south of Canal Flats onto the gravel Whiteswan Forest Service Road. Whiteswan Lake is about 25 km from the ; the hot springs are located near the west boundary of the park at kilometre With the exception of Inlet Creek Campground (which is open year-round), vehicle-accessed campground gates are closed during the offseason; walk-in camping is permitted. Backcountry camping at Cave Creek Campground is permitted year round but access to it will depend on snow levels and the condition of the ice on Whiteswan Lake. Camping fees do not apply in the off season if no services are provided. Access the park from Hwy 3/95 at the south side of Cranbrook, then drive west 4 km on a paved secondary road to the park entrance. The community of Cranbrook is 5 km east of Jimsmith Lake Park. 10 Fraser Basin Crooked River Provincial Park The park is located 70 km north of Prince George on Highway #97. This is approximately a one hour drive. The closest communities, towns and cities are Bear Lake and Prince George. All hiking trails and the campground loops are available for snowshoeing. Manning Provincial Park Winter Camping: Two areas are set aside for winter camping from December 1 to March 31: Lightning Lake Day-use: Self-contained units can camp in the Lightning Lake day-use area parking lot that is located 3.7 km off of Highway 3 on the Gibson Pass ski hill road. The pit toilets are open, NO FIRES allowed, no water and there are no picnic tables available. Lone Duck 1: Walk in winter camping parties can camp at the Lone Duck winter camping area which is located 4 km off Highway 3 on the Gibson Pass ski hill road. The area consists of a shelter complete with picnic tables, wood stove; a fire pit, no fire wood, pit toilets, parking lot and a large walk-in camping area to set up your tent or dig-in. Phone: (250) Web: Omineca Region Carp Lake Provincial Park Carp Lake Park is two hours drive northwest of Prince George. The main access road to the park joins Highway 97 (the John Hart Highway) at the community of McLeod Lake, 141 km north of Prince George. It is 32 km from McLeod Lake to the Carp Lake campground. This gravel road is single lane over part of its length, and has some rough surfaces and tight corners. The road may not be suitable for cars or trailers during the spring break-up period. Some portions of the road must be shared with industrial traffic. The closest communities, towns and cities are Prince George, Bear Lake, McLeod Lake and MacKenzie. There is the possibility of back-country skiing, snowshoeing and winter camping in the park. 25 Sea to Sky Birkenhead Lake Birkenhead Lake Provincial Park is located 90 km north of Whistler. To get there, follow Highway 99 north from Whistler.
